Super Bloom !!! Look what I found out in the flowers...

Funny you mention those environmental things, as we're hearing much similar environmental dialogue about "the wall" in south TX. Through family farms, wild life refuges, butterfly sanctuaries, etc.

Back to the wild flower pictures. Are those really wild flowers or infestations of pretty weeds?

If it is native vegetation, it is a flower. It is only a weed if the California Department of Enviornmental Quality says so.
The effort in Texas is all about trying to slow down the wall. Potential Democrat voters you know.

Funny you say that. When Jerry Brown decided we needed a 40 billion dollar super train he WAIVED all the most holy environmental impact stuff. Right thru the middle of the most valuable farm land in Bakersfield. They said it would decimate the bee population. Much like North Korea they do what they like, hypocrisy be damned. We sold them hundreds of millions worth of never used equipment for the train job that’s sat so long it’s now junk. Somebody is surely going to jail over this train debacle. Trump now is involved and the cat is out of the bag.

You know what, I better shut up about that I like my job...

Gov Gavin Newsom is livid that Trump wants the money back. Idiot Jerry Brown should have read the fine print in the contracts. In Oregone (pun intended), they spent about $160 million on a new bridge design to cross the Columbia River between Or and Wa. That did not get built either, they are now trying to figure out how to get out of having to pay that sum back to the Feds. Their solution is to start a third redesign of the bridge to show "progress". A fools errand in futility as Clark County Wa. does not want the Portland light rail line to be incorporated into the design, something about light rail being a conduit for the homeless, criminals, drug addicts and other undesireable elements to be dumped in downtown Vancouver, the end of the proposed line. A lot of these folks buy a day pass and ride the light rail all day to stay out of the rain and cold, then get off at the end of the line when the system shuts down for the day, about 2AM.

Sadly yes. California for all the money they take (I meant rake, thanks autospell), in has the worst roads in the Nation.
Have you ever been to MI? I see your bad roads and raise you with ours. Our new governor is pushing for a extra 45 cent tax for the roads. I don't know what they do with all the lottery money that is supposed to be for roads and schools.

Those poppies are the California State Flower. Illegal to pick but apparently from what I’ve seen okay to drive on so you can get some cool selfies. The mountain in the distance is a state flower park. It’s 3/4 completely orange right now. It’s funny it’s so crowded out here because of the poppies. This is the most desolate part of antelope valley 99% of the year. On a side note. Tom Malloy of Trench Shoring and Ed Pink engine fame was gonna build a private race track on the open north side but was mysteriously denied. 3-4 years later the spot was covered in solar panels... the fix was in.

It's California, he needed to make it an EV race track.

Ha ha, he has no choice but to give it back. They missed every checkpoint survey & audit and the financials were done mafia style. Who’ll miss a few hundred grand here and there right ??? I believe the state taxpayers are now suing because what’s left of the 2 hours from LA to San Francisco super train only goes from Bako to Fresno at LOW speed. That violates what the bonds were expressly voted for classic bait & switch. It gets even worse as by law the can’t discount the tickets so who’s gonna pay big bucks to ride it. Everything bad you’ve heard is true anything positive is from a spokeshole saving somebody’s bacon or a fool or a liar.

What do you guys pay for gas? I know Georgia is pretty cheap. Az is pretty low once you cross past the iron curtain. Right now we are between $3-4 a gallon in California. I’m not really sure as having a Company truck I never pay for fuel. I just fill up and go, never really check the price.

I’ll have to ask my wife what she pays LOL !!!

Holy $&#% !!!! I had no idea it was that high. Wow we really suck.

Oregon is still about $2.89-$3.00 Up to $.25 higher in big cities or next to freeways.

Y'all have "the train" and the proposed underground tube, but south of Dallas, there's "the circle tube" that was called "Super Collider" when it was started. Supposed to be big enough to let atoms fly fast enough to "collide" and break into nano-nano-nano smithereens. Got the land bought, then started building it, then money stopped happening. At least it's underground. The big scientific deal fizzled and hasn't been revived 15 years later.

Some investors are seeking to get a bullet train from Dallas to Houston. As it's not a government entity doing this, they can't really do the normal eminent domain stuff. But apparently progress is being made to make it happen. Like Elon's "pod in tube", it'll cost more than a Southwest Airlines' old "peanut fares" to Houston, I suspect. Wonder if they'll have a side trip to Austin or San Antonio? LOL

Normal gas in DFW is getting to be about $2.50/gallon, some places less, though, some are more expensive.

The bluebonnets are in bloom, too! State flower. People park on the side of the road to go out to sit in them to take pictures. Those poor flowers and what they have to put up with! Other wild flowers are starting to peak out, too, which is colorful.

Enjoy!

I think we were in the running for that super collider deal when I was still living in Phoenix. I think they passed cause it was gonna kill ants or something crazy like that. Small world bud.

All I can say is that I lived in Detroit for several years and their roads were easily the worst in the nation. Their potholes would easily tear your front suspension apart should you ever hit one at speed. Other midwest/eastern roads were also much worse than any of the ones in Southern California at least. I told you a million times not to exaggerate!

If you hate California for some good reason, why don't you just move out and cut the trashing - I don't find it to be accurate at all.

Our prices are flirting with the $3.00 mark, they came back a little $2.75 yesterday. We're usually close to the national average. With the amount of road tax we already pay and what's purposed were not getting much for our tax dollars.

Sorry dude I don’t hate California. I hate the scumbags that run it. I’ll just bide my time, I’m thinking they’re headed for the same fate that befell king Louis and Marie Antoinette. We’ll see... and as for the roads c’mon man if brad Pitt don’t drive on it nobody cares. Come up to Death Valley, the eastern Sierras ( and the road the rich take to Tahoe and mammoth don’t count ) or take the death trap they call the ten towards Az. When you cross the state line you see what a state road dept can accomplish. I don’t hate California I hate what’s being done to it by the leaders. I wish the idiots the keep voting these people in over and over would wake up or leave.
