Johnnie's Beef - Fantastic Italian Beef Sammich.

Very efficient operation, in one door out the other.

Low prices but man they make it up in volume ... Line was out the door the whole time we were there. We got lucky and got through quickly but after that the line was about 30 out the door with new people arriving as fast as they were serving.

Kid's got a cheese stuffed crust deep dish last night from Giordano's. I'm having a piece now. Just OK but damn I'm hungry

Mar I couldn't take it. Had to have another Italian beef and remembered my favorite Greek Gyro place had them on the menu.

It was also awesome so I imagine I'll have to have one every week or so :).

I had them put the dipping sauce on the side and OMG it was phenomenal !!! Dipped is by far the way to go !!!!

Pure heart stopping goodness :)

@MarPar

I'm going to this Bosnian place in a little while to get a Deluxe Gyro today down in the Bevo neighborhood which is where the Bosnians have set up shop. (STL has the most Bosnians outside of Bosnia-Herzegovina)

I am so looking forward to this

I wouldn't think of a Bosnian restaurant for a Gyro.... but I guess it makes some sense.

I once ordered a Gyro in a restaurant near Scranton, PA. It was a little late at night and this was one of the few places still open. They had a few Greek specialties on the menu, so I figured it should be good. I learned a long time ago how to properly pronounce "Gyro". With my upstate New York accent, it doesn't roll out like someone fluent in Greek would say it, but at least I say it without the "G". It comes out "year-oh". Close enough.... As I ordered the Gyro, the waitress looked at me and actually said "It's pronounced "Gyro""... saying it with a "G" (like gyroscope) and walked away. My wife said "Maybe you should have just gotten a hamburger".
