The Angry Man

By John Krawczyk

For all the interest group pandering that shapes modern American politics, the group that may well have decided the election has come down to the demographic of “The Angry Man.”

The Angry Man is difficult to stereotype. He comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from sophisticated urbanite to rural redneck, Deep South to Yankee North, Left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

No matter where he’s from, Angry Men share many common traits; they aren’t asking for anything from anyone other than the promise to be able to make their own way on a level playing field. In many cases, they are independent businessmen and employ several people. They pay more than their share of taxes and they work hard. Damn hard, for what they have and intend to keep.

He’s used to picking up the tab, whether it’s the Christmas party for the employees at his company, three sets of braces, college educations or a beautiful wedding or two. Not because he was forced to, but because it’s the right thing to do.

The Angry Man believes the Constitution should be interpreted as it was written. It is not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of appointed judges and political winds.

The Angry Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a gun and use it in defense of his home, his country and his family. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone if necessary to achieve those goals gives him only momentary pause.

The Angry Man is not, and never will be, a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina. He got his people together and got the hell out. Then, he went back in to rescue those who needed help or were too stupid to help themselves in the first place. He was selfless in this, just as often a civilian as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter. Victimhood syndrome buzzwords; “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless” don’t resonate with The Angry Man. “Press ‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him.

His last name, his race and his religion don’t matter. His ancestry might be Italian, English, African, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, Russian, Hispanic or any of a hundred others. What does matter is that he considers himself in every way to be an American. He is proud of this country and thinks that if you aren’t, you are whole-heartedly encouraged to find one that suits you and move there.

The Angry Man is usually a man’s man. The kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, go hunting, play golf, maintain his own vehicles and build things. He coaches kid’s baseball, soccer and football and doesn’t ask for a penny. He’s the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, design a factory or work the land. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant so that you can keep the lights on while never knowing everything it took to do that. The Angry Man is the backbone of this country.

He’s not racist, but is truly disappointed and annoyed, when people exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their ethnicity. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they’re willing to work hard and play by the rules. He expects other people to do the same. Above all, he has integrity in everything he does.

The Angry Man votes, and he loathes the dysfunction now rampant in government. It’s the victim groups being pandered to and the “poor me” attitude that they represent. The inability of politicians to give a straight answer to an honest question. The tax dollars that are given to people who simply don’t want to do anything for themselves. The fact that, because of very real consequences, he must stay within a budget but for some obscure reason the government he finances doesn’t. Mostly, it’s the blatantly arrogant attitude displayed implying that we are too stupid to run our own lives and only people in government are smart enough to do that.

The Angry Man has reached his limit. When a social justice agitator goes on TV, leading some rally for Black Lives Matter, safe spaces or other such nonsense, he may bite his tongue but, he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.
But when government officials are repeatedly caught red-handed breaking the law and getting off scot-free, The Angry Man balls-up his fists and readies himself for the coming fight. He knows that this fight, will be a live or die situation, so he prepares fully. Make no mistake, this is a fight in which he is not willing to lose and he will never give up.

Obama calls him a Clinger
Hillary Calls him Deplorable
Bill calls him Redneck

BLM calls him a Racist
Feminists calls him Sexist
ISIS calls him an Infidel
Donald Trump calls him an American

Wow, great fiction through this entire thread.

I'm going to continue living the way I have for my adult life. No kids, never married, don't own property, don't vote for insincere politicians-which means all of them. I don't want or need to own any guns- never felt a need to defend myself with anything other than my brain.

I own my own small business that allows me to do pretty much what I want within my means.

I think you will all be sorely disappointed over the next four years. Donald Trump doesn't care about anyone or anything other than himself. That's quite obvious.

One last thing, I know that my non-voting status irritates the veterans here. But if you chose to join the military to defend the constitution, then you chose to defend my right not to vote.

If you were drafted, then that is another discussion.

Actually, one more thing:

America is already great and the best country in the world.

Letting Donald Trump bullsh*t you into thinking that going back to the 1950's is going to solve everything is just ignorant.

I'm out.

You better do a little research.... if Bill Clinton was your hero you'd better look up who and where his pick worked!

Speaking for myself only, not the person who your are referencing, I thought Bill Clinton was one of our worst presidents in my lifetime and another Clinton in the White House was a painful thought, but the only one worse to me would be who we ended up with. Sad.

I don't know if many of you folks have the time to watch this interview on Climate Change with EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy. In my previous job of 31 years, I had the opportunity to interact with her and her staff on this subject first hand, and all I can say is that she and her staff are a real class act, and really want to do what is right for our future and our economy based on sound science from the best scientists available. Instead of listening to news casters or pure politicians on the subject, I believe hearing her explain their approach and reasoning is really helpful - she is not your typical politician. I am hopeful Donald will really consider the jobs and economic impact of what we do in the future. It is really is an opportunity to help effectively make America great again. I hope we don't end up handing this opportunity over to China again instead of the U.S. capitalizing on it.

Hi,

being german I stay usually away from these discussions.

But I can just say listen to Steve, exspecially when it comes to the rich and that they always got way richer even after the last big crisis. They always look at their own advantage first. 1% of the menkind owns more than 50% of the wealth. The middleclass no matter if in the US or the european countrys is disappearing.

There are a lot of other problems, too.
Of course there is social abuse and inequity.
And I agree the youth doesn't get teached how to work and what failure means.

But the getting the rich (and the rich companys) to pay their fair share is the main deal. I would have wished you Bernie for a better future. For you. For us. For everyone.

Here is more evidence that in this well-linked world, you either stay on top of the technology race and act wisely or get left behind. China is gaining steam and becoming an ever increasing real threat to our economy. In the past they didn't have the skills, up to date factories or infrastructure to outsource our jobs - no more. We each have to make ourselves worthwhile in terms of hiring attributes or be out of a job, and all our temper tantrums and whining won't help - and the government can only do so much to bail us out, including the one Trump puts together....... And we can't afford a government that makes dumb decisions and tries to take us backwards or isolate us from the rest of the world.

The Tesla Model S, designed and built in California, outsells even the luxury Mercedes S Class and the BMW 7 Series and the top of the line Audis, and has greatly embarrassed even the German elite automakers. I don't know where this all ends......................

NextEV plans Tesla Model X fighter for U.S. in late '18 or early '19

LONDON -- Chinese electric vehicle specialist NextEV will target the U.S as the first foreign market for its SUV rival to the Tesla Model X, NextEV co-founder Jack Cheng said at the launch of the company's first road car late last month.

NextEV built up its EV knowledge in the Formula E electric-vehicle race series. It now plans to sell road cars under the NIO brand.

The first is the EP9, a 1,342-hp electric two-seat supercar that costs $1.2 million to build. Senior design director David Hilton described it as a "bridge" between the company's race cars and the upcoming SUV, due late next year.

"The idea wasn't practicality but to bust records and look fantastic," Hilton said at the EP9's November launch here. It has a top speed of 194 mph and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds, making it the world's fastest electric car, NextEV claims.

The SUV will have a 70 kilowatt-hour battery pack for a range of 330 miles, rated on the more generous European cycle, Cheng said. He described the performance as being "as good as or better than the Tesla [Model X] but cheaper."

"It'll be positioned at Audi and BMW but with a Toyota price," Cheng said. U.S sales will start in late 2018 or in the beginning of 2019, he said.

NextEV is the brainchild of William Li, who made his fortune partly through an online portal providing up-to-date prices to car dealers in China. He plans to make a success of NIO by providing excellent customer service, something he said Tesla has failed to do in China.

"I have a Tesla. It me took three months to install a charger at home," he told journalists at the London launch. The SUV will be built in China in partnership with Chinese automaker JAC Motors.

NextEV had employed former Ford of Europe President Martin Leach as its co-president before he died in November.
