I made my own hose spring using the stainless spring inside a pop up sprinkler head. I worked it until it was the correct diameter and it works like a charm!

I'm filing that one away.

Thanks for the thread so replacing the thermostat on a B/RB can be difficult. Sounds like the procedure for a 95 Dodge Dakota as well. I have a 95 FSM and here is what it says:

(3) Air Conditioned vehicles: Remove support
bracket (generator mounting bracket-to-intake manifold)
located near rear of generator (Fig. 20).

On air conditioning equipped vehicles, the generator
must be partially removed.
(a) Remove generator drive belt as follows: Drive
belts on both 3.9L and 5.2L engines are equipped
with a spring loaded automatic belt tensioner


Must be the same group of engineers. Hmm....
