Does anyone know if there is any suspension tools for C Bodies out there like there is for A/B/E Bodies? I borrowed a kit from a friend for a B body but everything was too small. The UCA bushing got stuck in the tool, have fun getting that out. I can't find any of the factory tools anywhere from the aftermarket.

I only need to replace the LCA bushings, so if you know an easy way to get them out and pressed back in, any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks
Scott

You'll spend more in getting the tools than it would cost to have it done.

I'm with him. I bought the ball joint sockets to do it myself and have well over $150 in them. Its way easier to just take them and have them done. But I also used to to that kind of work so that is why I had them.

I've changed all that stuff in B and C bodies a number of times and except for the ball joint sockets and the press, I never bought a single "special" tool to press anything in or out.

Best bet though is just like the others say... take it to a good shop and have them press them in/out.

Thanks for the replies. I took it to the local frame guy, who is a mopar guy, owned a funny car, had a 70 Roadrunner with a blown 440 6 pack setup, and he said he has never pressed out LCA bushings, never needed to. He told me he could sink around andfigure it out, but for the $40 he'd charge, I was hoping I could get the tool. The tool for A/B/E bodies is $38 and they work awesome.

I'll try to make a new adapter and see if that will work, but I'm afraid the tool is too short for a C body. I'll also try another shop nearby.

Well, being the cheap *** I am, I made a tool to get it done. I measured my LCA from my Dart and converted that measurement to my Polara. The tool is 3" longer than the A/B/E tool. Made an adapter by welding a 3/4" x 10 nut to a piece of rod stock tapped to 3/4" x 16. Worked like a champion. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Best part, it was free! No to take off the inner shell and press the new stuff together, slap it allback together, and drive the he'll out of it. I'll be putting the miles on as fast as I can!
