What a nice looking M body LeBaron

My Sheriff office had one that blew the engine block heater out under full acceleration (which was common) and the motor seized. The local garage put a 360 in it but I'm positive the oil pan had to be shortened.

You could not get a 360 in a squad unless you modified the oil pan if memory is correct.

Pretty sure the M class 360 was last offered in the Dippy cruiser in '84, not to be confused with the 4BBL 318 with 360 heads. By this time the full sized Chevy was beginning to dominate the police market, mostly because of the more spacious size and about the same fuel mileage. 360 Dippys were a fairly rare police "special order" as most came with the standard 318 for police service. Significant numbers were also produced with the slant 6 for urban use.
