When the unbeliveable happens..

The plan is that I will bring home all this stuff. The Hemi is going to visit my machinist to be mag checked. Then I will begin trying to find out if it was a warranty block or car. If it belonged to a car I will begin trying to track it down.

The rest will be for sale. I likely will recondition some some of it. My partner in this wants the A body 8.75 for his dart. So between us the proceeds will be invested into my convertible and his 68 dart 270 2Dr hardtop which was his first car in 1978 and has been off the road since 1989

Wait, no Hemi "Angel"?? Come on man!

Nice find!
FYI the balancer on the Hemi is not a Hemi balancer.
Also, I would be very interested to know if that block has a VIN on it, and what it is. Thanks.

I am glad you guys knew what you were looking at.... I had no clue. Good for you!

Years ago, when my Dad and I wanted to build a VW Trike, I was at the local dump when I saw a complete 1200 block laying in the mud. Some one had dumped a VW motor at the dump! I was so excited! I looked around to see if anyone was looking, then picked it up, put it in the truck, and closed the door so no one would see.

My back hurt for months! Ha!

We never built the Trike....

KEY thing is finding a motivated purchaser that desires many of these artifacts. The "casual" enthusiast might not be that person. Newer and better "stuff" now exists in may cases.

Great finds, though! AND the stories they can generate!! Sometimes, you never know what's behind "that door". Sometimes, disappointing, other times, "GOLD".

I guarantee people would fight over that block.

It doesn't matter. It's a score beyond expectations.
I'll put it this way pop, I paid 1/4th of what I paid for my convertible. Split that in half again, and thats what it cost me for my half of the pie.

In terms of selling things, Ontario is actually a hot bed of Mopar enthusiasts, most of whom are purists.

Every fall I go around and buy up whatever I can, I recondition it, and re-sell it over the winter (at very reasonable prices I might add) for a modest profit, that profit gets invested into my cars.

This winter my Convertible is getting my attention as my goal is to take it to it's Birthplace in September for its 50th birthday.

These finds just made that goal a bit more possible, that and I was introduced to a friend of a friend who owns his own bodyshop and does primarily restoration bodywork, He's willing to deal with me on doing some stuff for cash.

If all goes well, the convertible may even be Green.....we shall see.

Nick
