I'm looking for a backup roadside assistance plan. I currently have Geico roadside assistance but I'm sure the towing has very limited mileage. My NYB is not going to be left unattended on the side of the road....ever!

I'm also going to add my niece to the plan. She needs a helping hand today with a tire and there is no one that will help her in zero degree weather in Milwaukee.

So....AAA has 3 levels of service. The best is 200 miles of towing which I believe is what I need for the NYB when I hit the road this spring.

Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

Compare to the AARP one. Better rates and when you have a claim it does not count against you car insurance. Plus I added my fiancé who lives at another location onto my policy for the same rate.

I have Gieco roadside. Wouldn't change it. They have never fought me on distance. They even allow me to choose the towing service.
They do have a limit on mileage, and u dont know what it is, but I generally if being towed I have it taken home and they just go with it. And you already have it?

I do have Geico roadside service but I do travel long distance with the NYB. I just don't want to have a problem out in the middle of nowhere. Plus I want to help my niece so she won't have a problem again.

I am all over new England. Have never had to be towed more than 75 Mike's, so I cant testify beyond that. They do only service vehicles on your policy

I bought the AAA plus recently for 2019 car shows and cruises...basically to cover any roadside issues when I start driving the Imperials longer distances. Never know with old iron.

I have the Premier Plan, towed my van twice but the big ones were twice towed my girlfriend's car (Land rover) over 100 miles each time after breaking down in WV at the same spot 6 months apart coming back from business trip. If your niece is in a friend's car AAA will tow it because they won't leave a member stranded.

I personally have AAA Premier. I bought it just before taking the NYer to Carlisle the first year. The second year the kids and I rode home in the cab of a rollback. The trip cost me $24 because it was 206 miles. That's the cheapest insurance I could ever have. Also, they towed us back to the fairgrounds the night before, free.

I don't know anything about Geico's coverage and I'm not old enough for AARP yet.

I dont know the particulars about all of Geico's roadside service. I used the service once in the last 20 years for a flat tire I had after surgery and they showed up in less than an hour.

I’ve had Plus since I got my first car. Used to be the top plan, now there is Premier above it. Have not changed because I’ve found Plus to meet my needs.

You’re in Maryland, so I suspect you’ll never be more than 100 miles from a reputable place. I therefore think Plus suffices for you. If you were in the middle of nowhere, my recommendation would change.

I have had plus since I started driving in 1982 worth every penny. Nearly every where I drive Goldie is under 100 miles. When I drive more than 100 it would also be more than 200. I would only get the Premier if there was some place I consistently drove in that 100-200 range then the peace of mind is worth it too.

I have the Hagerty plan. Its great...guaranteed flatbed towing, over 100 miles, and they will tow your daily driver too. Used it a couple times.

I've been a premier for a lot of years. Having several old cars that got driven regularly on road trips, I wont leave without my AAA card. I've used the service so much that It has paid for itself well into the future. Always a roll back if towing is needed. No questions, just sign the invoice. Any vehicle I'm a passenger in.
