Uniroyal tire company add from the late 70's.

I do. "Two-fer" video from 1973 (so they say) .. seems about right as I didnt have a car then.

The Uniroyal commercial showed in my area. I do not remember the Continental insurance one.

There where several commercials with Uni Roy & Al.

there's web reference that the two guys were guests on the Mike Douglas show in summer of 1976 ..so they must still have been "popular" well into the 1970's (via ongoing commercials or some other promotional activity). :-)

Wasn't the Tiger Paw a Uni Royal tire? I remember those, "7 around 2 wrapped by 1."

Back when those commercials were playing, Uniroyal didn't have a very good reputation for quality. Radials were suddenly very popular and all the new steel belted radials had tendencies for the belt to move and the tire to go out of round. Uniroyals were about the worst. I don't know as the "Uni" "Roy" and "Al" did anything to improve their reputation.... I remember a lot of guys in the car business using those names as a joke.

To this day, I would hesitate to use a Uniroyal tire.... Yea... That bad.
