It's not vindication.
Just saying that I see what you are arguing about.

And I love that windshield.

You can deny all you want, but you know Elwood made scene, turned off the taps and sanity reigned supreme once again, the zenith of its power between 69 & 73.

Yes, it is sanity when you consider what Exner was doing. Can this be improved? EVERYTHING can be improved, but it is not difficult to note the comparison between the 72' Imp and say these hideous examples of cluttered thoughts

I'll take every Forward Look car.........period!

Those big *** Eagle's on those Imp's alone are just outstanding!

We'll never ever have that free range automotive styling ever again!

As much as I hate to say it that Cadillac and the Buick have two of the most beautiful examples of somewhat mass produced mid century sculpture in the grilles alone.

X2 Bob, take one look at the jellybeans on the highway today one co. makes led eyebrows now they all.have them another gives a car a Hitler mustache grill now they all have them. At least then, love it or hate it you knew which one of the big three it belonged to.

It was a sign of the times, it wasnt only Exner ......... you dont have to like it
You already know I don't. And yup this isn't a rag just on Exner....GM, Ford....all those guys were dropping acid before it became cool. You can see it in the car designs of the period.

There is no more originality anymore, but originality does not have to mean ugly either.

There is not one car manufactured today that stirs the slightest bit of passion in me nor the least bit of motivation to think about buying one.

This is true, they all seem to be using the same formula to design cars these days. That says volumes about the buyers.
