So my three speed wiper motor had three wires coming out of the motor that are soldered to the harness. The insulation on them is rotted away leaving them bare...it works but does anyone have any info on taking the motor apart so I can reinsulate them correctly?

These is a shrink to fit insulation kit that has a floppy black material that you slip over the bare wires and then heat with a heat gun to shrink it into place. Most auto parts have this kit in the electrical section.

I have plenty of heat shrink...just don't want to open up to motor without some idea of how it goes together first or parts I might break...

Unless you think the wires are also bare inside, there is no real reason to open it up. These motors are very difficult to put back together as the brushes are not accessible without specialty tools. I would be inclined to sink the the exposed wires and let the unit run until something else fails.

thats what i wanted to know...if i need special tools to get into it then I will just do what i can from outside til it fails. It works fine...just need those wires sealed up.

Hell....I took it apart anyway. It was dirty and the wires needed heat shrink into the case....almost back together. Just have to solder the wires together again. Wasn't bad.

I took the time to strip the case and paint it, polish the stator drum contacts and regrease the whole thing. I will post pics when I get the wires terminated.
