The Bluesmobile

You wo
Should come up the back side of the mount and bolt to the top rear bolt on the bracket

I looked into it briefly the other night, and seen this is the way. But the hole is behind the mount, vs being towards the side.. Idk. I'll play with it more another day. These are shumacker mounts. Might have to call them about it.

Nice! Glad we're not alone! lol

The voltage regulator hasn't melted yet. What are these other boxes? Are they still available?

if that picture was taken with the wheels on the ground, it is out too far. it looks like it is barely engaged.

The rear is a bit higher then it would be sitting normally. But it is sticking out more then originally.

Theres still around 4" or so in the trans. I'll check it out when I get back under it.

I think it looks like it's sticking out more because of the type of seal.

This one has the extra dust seal on it.

We're in the stage where the car is fighting me over every little thing. Ugh! So the engine mount on the frame was completely in the way of the dipstick hole on the block. Got the old grinder, and cut off wheel out today. Man that was fun. 4.5" grinder in a 3" spot lol. Also trying my hardest not to ruin any of the paint, which means all the nice sparks on me. Woo! Only set my ahirt on fire once lol.

We have success though! Perch is cut down, and now outa the way. Ofcoarse the new dipstick was incorrect for this application. Nothing a little bending didn't solve. Its in! I gotta touch up a few small spots of paint as seen in the pics.

Next roadblock is the valve covers. Justvas I thought... They wont fit. Driver side hits the brake booster. Sum *****! I really wanted these to work. Oh well. I tried giving the booster a couple love taps to work but no dice.

I have a cheap chrome set on the way to replace these. Not happy about it. The mopar performance ones on the newport need replacing, so atleast these arnt a complete wash. They will find a home on her.

I should have some real nice updates coming in the next couple weeks. With the Cordoba sold, I had a little play $$. Lets just say the brown truck should be making a bunch of stops here this week lol

Refresh my memory on why the engine mounts aren't stock?

The car is a factory SB 360 car originally. Used the shumacher conversion mounts to swap in the 440, into the small block stub.

The motor mounts themselves weren't in the way. But they position the 440 a little more forward in the engine bay. The perches on the stub were in the way of the dipstick hole

Kinda expected at this point. Shes a bit of a Frankenstein car now. 440 from Imperial, 727 from a cordoba, 9.25 from a formal fury, and some original monaco parts thrown in there lol

Just wish shumacher notes this in the directions. Woulda been MUCH easier to do before installing motor. I had to trim the front of the same perch for oil pump clearence too. Very tight on that saide

Parts have been trickling in this week. I'm still a little pissed about the valve covers.. These new ones arn't bad, just dissapointing without the MP ones lol.

Double checked the motor was level sitting in the frame, and got her all tightened down. Then got the new valve covers. Also installed new spark plugs.

Went, and picked up some more gas for the welder. Got the cover for the steering coupler tacked on.

Also got the old exhaust manifolds out. I removed the heat valve. The pins were being stubborn, and didn't want to come out, which is good I think. I welded the holes up. I've never welded cast iron before. If the weld doesn't hold up, it should hold to the steel pin just fine. After that sprayed em with some new paint. Hopefully it'll hold! It looks good!

One of the big items showed up today! Stan, I believe you'll like this! lol

My package from bouchilon showed up today too, containing everything that goes with it. But it needs to be signed for... Hopefully I can pick it up from the store tomorrow night.

The PS pump proved to be a pain. Its a federal/chrysler pump. I don't wanna deal with changing brackets, and what not, so want to keep it that style. I found a reman federal pump no problem. All the companies that sell the normal pulley said they wouldn't work on the federal pump. Only one I cake accross fairly easily was a pulley from march performance. Its a little blingy! Might paint it, might not. The pump isn't here yet to verify everything yet though.

It seems a tiny bit bigger then the original pulley. But its pretty bent up to say 100%.

I called johnny from pace performance today, and order a correct distributor to work with the fitech efi. Very nice guy, and helpfull! The efi is the last "big" buy for the engine/drivetrain. Almost there!

It's an underdrive pulley.

Will it work alright? Didn't see any mention of it being an underdrive/overdrive pulley.

It was all I found in a pinch..

I got the new speedo gear/housing/cable installed today. Along with the driveshaft. What a pain the conversion joint has been.. But its in.

Also have the new a/c compressor moched up on the engine. Ofcoarse the power steering bracket I have won't work. Had to order an earlier one.

I wish I could say its starting to nickel, and dime me to death, but its worse. Every mishap has been a $100 bill. Starting to get old.

I attached a pic of the new, and old speedo cables together. Nobody seems to have ever seen a speedo cable like the original before.

Nope no cruise ever. A guy on the blumo board brought that up, but the car never had it...

Also, even if it did, the top cable would not have reached the servo on the inner fender. That fitting was right outside of the firewall

Making headway. Cleaning/painting installing parts, along with new stuff.

Champion radiator had the wrong mointing points (ofcoarse).. Drilled new holes on the core support for it. My originla fan shroud looks like its not going to work. Might have to go the electric fan route. I can't find a champion shroud to fit this radiator though.

Deff more "blingy" under the hood. But I can live with it.
