5th Annual C Body Show

I never thought this show would attract as many C bodies than a much bigger Mopar show like Mopars in the Park, but the with the latest registration numbers hitting 38 rides attending, and with 2.5 weeks yet to go, we've already surpassed all records for the past events held for this annual gathering. Many thanks to all the C Body the fans out there and for being a part of the show.

Now if we can coax some those who attended the show last week in Minnesota to Illinois, I believe we could easily get over 50 cars this year.
Hopefully it happens. I'd like nothing more than having to inform the IRM they need to make more room for us.
Some of you guys in neighboring states or some of you guys up in the motor city who regularly post on this site, would be welcome too.
A few hours drive is not that far away, and it'd be nice to put a face to the name to some our our FCBO family.

Remember to bring those hot wheels for the toys for tots

My wife just ask what we were going to do when our daughter goes on her upcoming trip that will last for about 15 days. This opens up a window of opportunity.
My Wife also wants to go to Duluth MN, which could be on the way if I go North three hours.
I will have to see what I can throw together this week.

Somewhere in this post there was a mention of another Mopar car show on Sunday. Anyone have any further information on it? Is it worth attending or after the Main event on Saturday am I better off just heading for home?

I wished i'd planned this Summer out better. After our big Mopar show yesterday, I'm literally sick in bed this morning. Overdid things, despite drinking a bunch of water. Way too damned much work! I think next year, I'm bringing the Imperial to the C-body meet. This year won't happen, but next year, hell yeah!

I am now registered. See you guys in a couple of weeks.

Anybody from out of town find a decent hotel in the area?

I will be driving one of my Dodges to the June 27 Waupun, WI show organized by @Pete Kaczmarski — you can PM me for details and let me know if that would be in the cards.

Thanks for the invite, but since I am spending a couple of days in Duluth prior to this, I will likely start heading back Saturday evening and try to get a couple of hours off of a long Sunday drive back. If I can make it to close to Madison on Saturday evening. I will only have 7-1/2 hours to drive on Sunday.

Likely this means I may not get to Carlisle this year.

A friend sent me this on FB.

Great Flyer!

Glad to see they've posted the flyer on their FB page.
The young lady I was working with at IRM gets the credit for designing the flyer, after I sent her a bunch of C body pics to use.

I just went on googly and found this place... Welcome to RavenStone Castle - a unique bed and breakfast destination in northern Illinois
I've never heard of this place before, but it looks like a pretty neat place, and its not too far from Union. Unfortunately, they've got some event that weekend going on, and they'll be doing tours. The woman I spoke with told me you may be able to check in "late" and check out "early" if you can work with that. 1 room is $165, 2 rooms $185/night. Maybe worth a try for you & the wifey.

Have fun. Maybe you can talk Pete into bringing a car or two or three.... to the C Body show.
I'm sure he's got his hands full organizing his event this year. Too bad the timing doesn't work for him.

As @BLIMP posted, the Chicagoland Mopar Connection has been putting on local events for quite a few years now, and they always have a great turn out.
There's a bunch of trailer queens there every year as well as many nicely restored drivers. All good people too.
The C Body class has been growing over the last several years, but they still lump all the C bodies into one awards category.
I believe the entrance fee is $15 to show and $20 if you want your car judged for a trophy.

Our 5th Annual C body Show now has 55 people/guests registered, and a car count of 39, and possibly as many as 45 C Bodies. There are people who have registered but didn't include whether they are bringing a car to the show or not. (I've sent emails to anyone that I wasn't sure of) Check your email that you used to register for the event, and send a reply when you get a chance.
There's still time to register. Here's how you can join us in 12 days.... 5th Annual C Body Mopars Car Show Tickets, Sat, Jun 26, 2021 at 10:00 AM | Eventbrite

I found a place in Algonquin/ Lake in the hills about 7-10 miles away? May adjust or re think to get the same hotel for Friday/Saturday night which may put me between Rockford and Madison.
plenty of time to decide.

With a week away for the 5th annual C Body Show, I hope everyone coming will be glad to know there are 45 cars registered at this time, including 38 cars and 9 wagons.
I think everyone is going to be amazed of the variety of makes, models and years of the rides that will be on the field in 2021.
