72 Formal Fury Finally

I've never seen a clear picture of a 72 Fury with the Formal top, until now. Kind of like the rear quarter styling, versus the 72 coupe's large hips. Formals must be rare must be rare models. I think the brochure photo below has the Formal and Hardtop descriptions mislabeled.

The 1972 Formal coupe was better proportioned than the '70-'71. They made approximately 17,000 formals vs 44,0000 regular coupes in '72. I have one, but it's in absolutely terrible condition. So bad that it's just about ready to split in half on it's own from all the rust.

Would still like to see pics and the fender tag please, and to hear the story.

From the rear 3/4 angle, to my eyes the formal top makes the Fury 2dr look closer to the same year’s New Yorker 2dr (the photo below is Buttercup, my 1972 NYB).
