Calling for a Pow wow from the Best and the Brightest - Overheating.

Sounds funny but my d100 had the same issue course its a mh motor and its got a funky thermostat housing but if i run any type of conventional stat other than a hi flow milodon up the temp goes.

Since you definitely know it's not the radiator I'll say that you used the wrong head gaskets and it's restricting the coolant flow through the heads.

But, the voice of reason says check the thermostat. And, WTF are these o-rings all about?
Just for you, I checked the thermostat. Yep. It's there.
Racer boy doesn't know about O-rings? For shame!

They'll be at the store in the morning. And I'll match them up with a set of heads I have in my shop first!

I know more about o-rings than you know about head gaskets. Ouch! Too soon?

So, ignore the possibility that the thermostat is not opening and just start pulling the heads.

Yes. Way too soon. Talk to me Friday.
It's the gaskets...

It is not the stat. It was overheating exactly the same way before I put in the new stat a few days ago. The new stat did nothing. You want me to try a third?..
And when it overheats again, try a new stat again. Stop it. It's not the stat. Or did you both fail to read earlier that I went with a new stat?? And it was a special ordered Super-Stat by Stant.

Always had good luck with mopar performance steel shim gaskets and spray on copper sealer, I also put a washing machine lint strainer on outlet of thermostat housing up inside upper hose to trap anything that is disturbed when engine apart.

Sure..... i hope it was the ultra thin super strong magnatanium turbotronic anti static leak free gasket......

Oh well since it was the special order super Stat............

You sure it's not the stat. Just kidding. As many times as you've removed the heads, you should have it down to an hour total. Good luck.

Stant thermostats are bullet proof....I've never had a bad new one in 40 years.
