Animals

These are our 2 galgo's (Spanish greyhound) We adopted them from a shelter in Spain when they were about 3 years old. Sadly there is a lot of animal cruelty in Spain, especially with the greyhound race.

Fina is 11 now but she is still very fast.

Iris is 9 now, it took us 2 years to gain her trust and to see her wiggle her tail out of happiness

They just love to run

My ex-wife took my dog.....

She left the cats....only because they are named Mopar and SuperBee. SuperBee (left) has the bumblebee stripes.

The one on the right (Mopar) is a terror now. Keeps knocking over the water dish. I had to get one of those dual dog feeders and she still tries to knock it over daily. Also climbs on every table and knocks everything on the floor.

I'll bet that is fun to see the two of them running together. Our Boarder Collie mix was faster than my sons go cart, and literally ran circles around the golf cart.

This is Rolene, aka Ro. Rolene is a three-year-old Black-mouth Cur, just over 50 pounds, with a wheat coat with black and white markings. She is strong, powerful, and very playful! Rolene was a tornado dog who became temporarily homeless when her original family lost their home in Moore, OK in May 2013. The rental home they found would not accept dogs. I found her through a local Boxer rescue, which had several dogs up for adoption at a local vet/pet store. I saw her just two weeks after losing GiGi, my seven-year-old PapiChi in a very tragic accident, so it was way too soon after my loss to consider another dog. I sat down next to her, and she came right over and laid her head on my lap like she'd known me forever! It was good I was wearing sunglasses, because I had tears all over the place. Here was my next dog! I got the contact info and told the woman I wanted the dog, but not quite yet. Rolene had to meet the approval of both my wife and my Chihuahua before I could commit.

We picked her up in June 2014. It took a couple of days for her to get acclimated to her new home, but soon she was ready to run and play outside in our fenced yard without worries. She was already house-trained, and she has never had an accident inside the house. The first few days, she did not bark at all, and found that to be a trait with black-faced curs. Oh, but when she found her bark in her new home, it was loud and strong! She has a pretty intimidating bark, which I love. She will stand and howl at me or any of my family when she feels she wants something and thinks we are not paying attention to her. When it's bedtime, she'll hop right up into the bed and curl up at the end. She is leash-trained and loves to ride in the car. I need to get her an appropriate harness so she can ride strapped in and safe.

Rolene is a wonderful dog. I really thought it would take me 6-8 months before I'd even consider another dog, but she is soooo friggin' sweet that I could not resist! She is not a "replacement dog", as no dog can ever replace another. She's another great dog to love and have in my life!

My other dog is a 11-year-old Chihuahua named DeeDee. We got her as a six-week-old pup that was barely a pound. Now, she's six pounds. Also have two cats - Russia and Chou-Zsu. One girl, one Tom, both friendly as hell, too!

Here's my best friend and 2001 Christmas present. He's American bulldog with a touch of beagle. Kinda looks like Alice Cooper after applying makeup without a mirror. Everywhere I take him or if he's at the passenger window of my truck he draws attention especially from females. Don't know why - he lost his balls.

It's pure joy to see them running and you can see they enjoy it them self. Sometimes they couldn't run for a few days and then they are shivering until you let them loose. If they run with a dog that is slower they will slow down for a moment until the other dog gets closer, make a 360 around him and then it's full throttle again.
The beach, grass or snow, it's all good to them.

I've posted this before. Both rescue boxers. I am part of our local boxer rescue, I sometimes have a 3rd I foster. Too many dogs need a home....PLEASE always check you local rescues before "buying" a dog. The small male was born in the rescue and I got him as a puppy, he is a runt that never grew, full grown @ 42lbs, just a peanut. The larger female (80 lbs) was thrown out of a car hours from Austin TX, crawled her way to somone house who took her to a kill shelter. Austin's Boxer rescue sent a volunteer hours drive to get her out of the kill shelter. She was abused and litterally had no hair when I took her in. About 5k in vet bills her coat is stunning and besides scars from being abused she is almost show quality. She is the most loving dog that never leaves my side. I wouldnt mind having a "conversation" with her last owner. Is amazing from what she was put thru that she loves going for a ride so much, especially in a convertable. Sweetest dogs in the world, but dont mess with her chrysler! She doesnt allow people to get to close to it (staring at a person parked next to me), any of my other cars she doesnt care!

If you like anyone can virtually adopt a dog or donate to the ABR. Or donate to your local rescues!!! My PSA of the day :)

I love boxers they always look grumpy I think that what makes them cute

lol yes their face doesnt show a whole lot of emotion, but the *** end wiggles a million miles an hour and they will kidney bean. Ironic enough just after I posted that I got a call from the rescue, looks like time to foster a young male in a kill shelter. 3 boxers is always a handfull...
