Wollfen's 1971 Sport Fury GT !

Why would you not be able to use the front subframe and rear frame structures? They are essentially the same car.
The rear frame has some rust in it but the rear shackle mounts appear to be solid. The front subframe is a solid mount unit whereas the 71 car has torsion air ride sub frame, meaning not only is it two feet longer than this one but it also has different height spacing on the mount locations too. Then the radiator support panel is also different between the years too. I think i can get the correct subframe a few hours away, I will investigate once my Charger is sold.

It is interesting to look at this car and note the option differences. Doesn't have the 71 only road wheels on it either. Also I can see the GT stripes on the hood are further apart than mine. Still a nice looking car.

I had no idea what I was looking at back then.......

I just thought it was a very cool Fury with a 440. I would of taken more and better pictures of it had I known how rare it really was. I talked to the owner all that day (he was parked right next to me) and he didn't make a big deal on how rare of a car he had. He actually took twice as many pictures of my 78 NYB then I did of his car.

He did say his car was 100% original.
Thats interesting to note, I have been looking for information on what road wheels came out on the GT's in 71 and the rare ones with the full dish may have been an option rather than standard. As for the stripes, I know mine is original too, I am wondering if it came down to who was on the production line at the time when it came to placing the stripe package on?

The one in Bob's pics is way too good as far as that metallic paint Job is concerned, most likely repainted and no single stage and by that it is no more the original striping. Info by owners even first owners should be taken with a grain of salt no matter if deliberate or by wrong memories, at least this has been my experience over the years.

your stripes are in correct place,,his are wrong.....full dish were a option

No matter how many resources I go to, I keep seeing the full dish wheels as optional. At least as how I read it. The problem is I am completely green on these cars. You guys, in this forum, have really turned me in to them. The Best & The Brightest truly are here in FCBO!

It was..... it is too dark

He said other than tires, brakes, tuneup, belts, hoses and the battery.....the only thing he had rebuilt was the radiator.

I was just looking at this youtube video and it spoke of the plastic protector on the rear bumper, for all the Sport Furies it was color coordinated with the vinyl roof but on the GT it was matched to the color of the stripes, interesting.

I was looking at that rear bumper protector...thought it looked "wrong", and wondered why in he!! would someone paint it white! Well guess I was wrong in my assumptions across the board. Very cool, and interesting options and facts!

Yup, I have played with Plymouth Furies for over 25 years now and I honestly had not ever seen the plastic protector before. The 71 model cars in Australia didn't have them.

Years ago when I owned a '71 Sport Fury Coupe both the paint color and the padded taillight surround was gold.

Picked up a Kenwood CD player today, $5 and works! I have to work out where to put it in the car. I have got a Plymouth AM radio to refit into the original spot so its not going there.

Alright a bit of an update, some more detailed interior pics, as you can see of the headliner it has some mold spots, what product is good to get rid of that?

Is there room in the glove box for the Kenwood?
I have to look close to see how i can use the screws along the front inside edge. I don't want to damage the glove box liner at all. If it doesnt go in there i will look at mounting under the seat or something.
