Murray B. Park Private tour

Pretty much everything Polara71 said to the letter. I'll only add a few thoughts...

When I first met Murray in the same era he was very friendly, took me around his yard, etc. I sold him a few Detroit area cars and sent him customers. Then I'd run into him at swaps and he was suddenly "distant". He seemed to want to deal only by mail. Messages went unreturned. It was as if I'd done something, but I have no idea what?

Never any dishonest treatment... I've continued to deal with him, but it's no longer my default C-body place. That's a shame, because we have pretty identical tastes in cars (I also like Exners, A, '71+ B and R bodies, which you'll see in those pics.)

He definitely has more indoor shelters (and trees) than the last time I was there. I do wish him all the luck in the world. I notice a lot of junkyard guys get sorta nuts as they age, I hope that doesn't happen to Murray.

Yes, that is Murray.

I've been buying from him for just shy of 20 years and have seen his ads within the MCG since 90/91. After seeing these photos I now know why he has no time. He is simply out of control.

Incredible. I was interested in buying that Ohio police Fury from him, probably 5 years ago. It was outside at that time, and turned out to be rusted really bad.

I never had 1500 Matchbox cars at one time...
Thanks for posting these Julian. Did you get your mirror at least???

Great pics, thanks for posting.

I got the partial tour in July 2009.

It's interesting to see how 7 years changes things:

These intrigued me the most during my visit:

When I saw the above scene, I asked him if he knew where everything was. He said: "I know where to start looking."

I'd be content to spend the rest of my life "looking"

He said he just have a few and not in good condition but will search if he could find a good one. Also asked for the vinyl roof trim edges, same answer. :/ We will see.

Wow. I always pictured him as some eccentric old coot like the hoarders you see on American Pickers. Totally 180° from what I thought.

Thank you for posting those pics. His operation is much larger than imagined.
He has a full time job and does his parts business on the side? He sure has a lot invested in buildings and inventory.

Can't imagine what the estate sale would look like. Think of the uncovered gems in there. So, this is a one man show?

Thank You for posting this, Vodka! It is a breathtaking collection of parts cars. Many Fuselage CH's there, too. I see he got the blue '# 17' 1971 New Yorker 4d HT, that was for sale in NY in January.

Am i the only who cant stop drooling over this?!?
