I'll keep you posted. Plan 2 is help from local Mr Mopar, he has offer to help but he is the middle of rebuilding a beautiful Imperial and I don't want to bother him. I take some pictures of it when he gets it back together.

HUH? Field trip to the Imperial rebuild?
He lives just outside of West Jefferson only about 15 miles from my house and probably 8 from my shop. I have thought about asking him if he needed any help, just to be noisey. The last time I saw the car he was getting ready for reassembly of the engine bay and front suspension (which looked to be power coated). I'll ask him if he would like a couple of visitors.
Please post pictures if you go to his shop. That would be very interesting.

Well, if he's like most car guys, he won't mind a couple of other car guys (especially C body owners) checking out his build. I just met a guy who's building a 65 Impala with an original 409. He's in waaay deep & bobbing but having a blast.

The yellow car had been cared for in a way that is likely unmatched. There is a spiral notebook in the glove compartment with detailed maintenance records, including waxings. If you're gonna buy a used car, Glenn is the guy to buy it from.
But....the car was built in 1973..... Yea, it's in perfect parade condition but it's not daily driver.

Any car should be sorted out perfectly enough where you shouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country. The bling and the other crap comes last.

I guess he thinks unimproved 1973 standards are not up to his idea of daily driver status. Personally, I drove well maintained old cars all my life as daily drivers no matter how far.

The gauges are iffy at best & I don't trust any of them, including the speedo. Something is causing resistance when it's warm & it barely wants to start at heat soak. There's a bad clunk & a bad scrape in the rear suspension. The windows all work but the switches are iffy. The sunroof needs help in both directions. The car floats like a cow on iceskates. The brakes are just ok. Etc.....

Yes, I am too anal. It does suck at times and I'll be the first to admit it. That plus my severe A.D.D. really makes life um... well... interesting. Ask my long sufferring wife. The other side of the coin is that I can say I get things done. Ya take a negative and try and make it an advantage.
