Is that a VW behind that Fury??

Sorry.... just had to.....

I thought all Mopars except Formals were a 'Dodge'
My grandfather who purchased my Barracuda new always asked how the old Dodge was doing.
With the Barracuda I got Marlin, Charger and Pontiac (nothing specific on the Pontiac).
With the Polara I'd get Fury and Polaris, even when you say Polara they repeat Polaris.

There's a local woman that owns a nice Marlin. I'm told she gets a little crazy when people say "nice Charger".

I get a lot of people, who while standing in front of my car looking at the chrome "Plymouth", will ask how I like "the Dodge".

LOL!! That is very funny because it is so true!

Sitting at a red light last week and heard the lady in car beside me say 'wow, look at the Cadillac'. Not worth the effort to correct her.

My Dad use to Get asked, Sometimes if he had a 350 in his 340 Swinger. That made him pretty angry actually lol.

The most common thing my Newport gets called is a Chevy, and I can see that. The '69 Impala does share similarities with it. I get a kick out of the people who walk up to the Gremlin and say, "I haven't seen a Pacer in years!" I tell them, "And you still haven't!" Often they will continue to say, "Did you know the passenger door is longer than the driver's door?" I'll respond, "That is true for a Pacer; this is a Gremlin."

When they ask the engine, I say 383. Occasionally I get "Stroker! " I simply say No big block and leave it at that.

I can see it now. 20 years from now some kid is going to be talking about how his Grandpa bought a '71 Camero brand new with a 383 in it! It's going to happen.

The funny thing is you could pull up to me today in a Toyota Honda Mazda Kia or a Cruze and ask me what it is and I couldn't tell you. Pull up in a 58 Dodge Custom Royal and I have it pinned down in no time. Cars used to be interesting and had character. Even into the early 80's I knew each model on sight except for some of the GM multi-branded same car stuff. Today I couldn't tell a Tesla from a BMW and I couldn't care less. Metric Challenger on the other hand...slam dunk. Computer modeling has determined the optimum shape of cars for aerodynamics and guess what they are all the same because why?...Computers have no soul....Exner had soul!

Ive had the "they made 300s back then??" I've also had someone ask if its a Newport, when I told them what it was, they muttered the above question.

Snotty, I saw your cars at the CCM show at Hagan park. I recall thinking the slots looked good on the barge. I was also digging the Gremlin, cool rides you got there.
Travis..

Most people, when they see my 68 Fury, don't even try to guess. They just ask, "What is that?" MY 83 Chrysler E-Class often got mistaken for a Mercedes. Most likely due to the E-Class script and the the Chrysler Pentastar on the wheelcovers and the hood ornament.
