I agree, my father use to say, "The older I get, the more I realize how little I know". If only I knew now as much as I thought I did when I was 20.
Technically, I think Dave is a touch older than me. Not that it matters... He's right and I don't mind embracing a few things that make my life easier.

RIP. When I took the oath of joining the USMC in the summer of '56 I met and became very friendz with a guy from Portland Oregon. Even took him home a few times to party hardy in East LA after we graduated boot camp and could pull weekend liberty when we were in advanced training at Camp Pendleton In Oceanside, Ca. Funny but the guyz name escapes me rite now but the 1st week of boot camp while we were in the communal showers he waz leaning against the bulk head in the shower washing one of hiz feet by folding hiz lower leg horizontal to the shower floor and scrubbin' on it. Look ah bit weird so I watched for ah bit and just happened to notice that all hiz toes were completely webbed on both feet, WTF. I ask him about it later and he commented that until he got into jr. high school he thought every one waz like that 'cuz hiz dad and two brothers had the webbed toes too. From that day forward I called my friend "Mallard" and every one in our company picked up on that handle too AND HE LOVED IT and he waz everybodyz favorite Jarhead in the best sense of the word. And I still think about him now and then and just smile warmly good thoughts to myself. Everybody needz ah handle My Friend. Ah good one, Jer
