Which ones of these two has the better looks to them?

In my opinion, I prefer the 73s because their front grille texture looks more refined, classy and luxurious, which are more fitting for a true luxury vehicle.

The real issue with a 1969 Imperial is that they are more unreliable due to their early semi - electronic systems and almost experimental gadgets and less than ideal dashboards that are a pain to work on. They have sequential turn signal tail light controls with multiple mechanical attributes to them such as mechanical points and other complexities. Then there is Autotemp 1 which is on nearly all of them, and are very hard to get to work at all. The only real solution is to replace them with manual sytems but getting the right dash pieces aren't so easy to find. By the time the 72s and 73s rolled out of the assembly plant doors, they were more refined with less problems and their Autotemp II systems are not that hard to get fully operational with help from Performance Analysis Company who reproduces remanufactured control servos with much better than original parts. But there is no doubt in my mind that the 1969s were the best looking of all of them. If you like to work on them, then a 1969 is a dream (nightmare) by comparison to a 1973 model. If you just want to enjoy driving them, a 1973 model is the way to go.

Ask me how I know...................

Yep you have the car I want. I'll trade and add cash! Or I could buy it outtite if you will sell it to me. I've been a mechanic all my life. Originality on the 69 I would throw out the window. I would build a monster 440 w/fuel injection, aftermarket air and duals. Beat a hot rod Lincoln any day of the week. I don't know. I just like that one. I kno w the 73 is longer ,wider, reinforced doors, trunk key lock and better brakes,nicer dash, probably nicer about everything. I just like the 69.... So will you sell it??? Please

@ayilar

Thanks for the heads up, but I´ve got no guts to get another baby yet. BTW, Auto Temp was optional throughout the Fusie era. The single Air Temp (manual) was standard.

@Mr.Crowley

Sell the JB9 73 only if you are sure that you want to pass it on. Regal Blue with blue interior is not a paint scheme to easily get and 40250 miles sound like it is very clean like you stated on the post #1.
For example at first I was on pursuit for a 69-73 2dr, but then found my 73 4dr ht, which is awesome. It´s more that you like the car than the "correct" amount of doors.

Yeah I hear ya, and thanks. I had another guy tell me about the blue color. The 69 I looked at was a 4 door as well. I'm hooked on the rear bumper of a 69. I LOVE blue. Most all my cars are blue. I really really like this one. Yeah it's in great shape and that is correct miles. I'd swear on a stack of Bible's
The previous owner filled out the milage on the title actual miles and swore to it and if you know about cars you can tell. With a new paint job a set of tires and an engine bay clean up I'd be ready for shows.... And win.From what everyone is telling me I like the car more and more, but I have way too many cars to keep this one and buy another I don't even know where I would put two. But listen, hey thank you for opening my eyes a bit.

At this time Mr Crowley, I already have a very interested buyer in Germany who also wants this one very badly as well as another of my cars. I do like that he would keep it pretty much original. But I too am having trouble letting it go until I can spend more time with it before considering letting it go. It has some 38K miles on it too, so that makes it a little less troublesome than a high mileage one. And the white leather bucket seats of that 69 are really nice, and at least as nice as the 72-73 bucket or split bench seats in terms of appearance to my eyes. I also have a 1973 triple white Imperial coupe that is also very nice and also about 39K miles on it. So that is why I am able to make all the comparisons.

That is so awesome. Finding these damn imperials is harder than finding a damn Roadrunner. Why don't they bring more money? Or am I missing the boat here
I'm really thinking I priced it wrong. If you were to sell your white 73 what would you sell it for if you don't mind me asking. Not saying it's for sale. But if it were.... Truth what would you ask?

My 73 is not as nice as your's is in terms of the body, but it has original paint. It has a little rust in the lower quarters that I want my body/paint guy to fix and repaint that area only, blending it in with the original nicely. Since it is a 2 door, not a 4 door, I would ask more for it than you are asking for yours as a result, assuming I have the rust fixed very well. I believe yours is priced fairly given that it has had a repaint that is fading again and 4 doors are definitely significantly harder to sell too.

These cars are more complex and therefore more troublesome to maintain properly and compared to B bodies for example, they are far less in demand. This is a situation wherein I find the rest of the mopar community has overlooked and undervalued/appreciated the C bodies compared to the B bodies. I also have a lot of cars like you do, and that includes a 1970 440 - 6 pack cuda, a 1969 Charger RT/SE, a 1971 Charger R/T, a 1971 Roadrunner and other Chrysler bodies other than C bodies. I just like the C bodies best. I also worked for Chrysler engineering starting back in 1969, and nearly all the lab cars were C bodies, not the B or E bodies for example. These were the driver cars that engineers took outside the engineering complex when they had to drive somewhere else for business and they knew damn well where the greatness was.

Thanks so much. Your opinion meant a lot to me. It assured me I'm on the right track. This is my first attempt at C body cars. I agree now that I own one. Thrre way way undervalued. It makes a person like me have a hard time in buying one. Because I would over pay or sell too cheap. It's not about the money part either. When I got into Mopars years ago people weren't as much into the Money part as they are today. It was about the car. The owner and so on. I got out of it because of all the wanna be's. Now all of a sudden every body wants a Mopar. Hell I used to fight in my school just for owning one. So thank you for your time and honesty. Its refreshing. Good people here. Glad I broke down and finally jumped into internet world.

I'm still gonna get a 69!!! LMAO

I waited for my 1969 over 20 years before finding it about 4 years ago now. No other ones appealed to my for the 1969 model year until this one. They are still out there and you will find one, usually when you least expect it. Keep in mind these are just cars and while I love all of mine, I never lose sight of the fact that they are really just cars, but better than most others IMO. Glad somone as exhuberant as you has joined the forum. Welcome aboard!

I'll be DEAD in 20 years. I need a car like the next month or two. LMAO. What ever 69 I get I don't care. I'm going to paint it Black and put a Black Leather interior in it. Pack my trunk with a mannequin, Get my Cigar and suit and pretend I'm back in Jersey wit da boyzzzzz FUGETABOUT IT!!! God that's so funny. I make myself laugh. Thanks guys your great!

Two main reasons for being so rare are:

Chrysler Corp. was not getting Imperials the totally independent image, therefore they were considered as high priced Cryslers.

Derby brainers abuse these on Imperial only classes due to the stout front stub frame and overall rigidness. Also other Cs have been derbied.

Ha Ha Ha Wow U Know me pretty good. LoL NO WAY This boy is DONE .Herniated discs in lower back herniated and bulging discs in the neck, torn rotater, knees that pop and now caterack surgery. I don't have any reason at all to like MOPARS!!!! I build way too many cars. Took it's toll on me. I have a few last cars I'm finishing up. I pay to have them finished. That doesn't work well either. Nobody wants to work. And I can't find anyone to do good work. I buy all cars Finished or close to it now. That's why imperials are appealing to me. You can get a really nice car for very little money. For what I'm asking for my car I couldn't even build a 440. These car's are so worth it.
