My 67 Newport custom came from w.s. north main st. I believe around the sawtooth building according to my bill of sale, I thought I had the only one around here so I was a bit shocked looking good keep it up , I f you see one around with a black vinyl top and dd1 please say hey, me and my buddy do some area cruise ins and such as coffee and cars Reynolds village, he's driving a 48 Plymouth special deluxe droptop.

Ok...so I bought a sandblaster and some walnut shells...have to say the walnut shells did a good job but Damn are they expensive for nonrecovery....$25/25lbs did 1/3 of my frame. Going to try coal slag @$7/50lbs...may not be good on sheet metal but fine on the frame.

I have never used walnut shells, but have used sand and coal slag. The blasting sand works ok on rust, but the slag (ours is black beauty I believe) works great on rust. Ours is in the cabinet at work and sometimes you will get a chunk of the rust from previous blasting in the nozzle. It wont be a concern for you because your not recovering it like in a cabinet.

Almost done with the stub frame. All new moog bushings, upper ball joints, kyb shocks and anything else I could replace. Still have to clean up the brake hubs and sway bar...install the tie rods and steering gear. Then I have to finish the transmission seals and paint so I can mount the motor and get the rest going. The front of the car is all patched up and just needs to be cleaned of the undercoat residue from stripping that so I can paint the underside with the chassis saver before painting the firewall purple....unless I go with black for the engine bay. Still undecided on that, but the car will be the same metallic purple as the motor.

I realized I forgot the sleeve that goes in the strut bushing....then I remembered I had to cut them off the struts to get the bushings off....Anyone know where I can get more? I replaced the bushings with moog parts and kinda thought they would come with new sleeves....or do they not use them?

Figuring that they new bushings would come with sleeves...I did not keep the old ones. I can make new ones but only if I know the dimensions....can anyone provide this info?

I'd assume they are the same that go in a 67 Monaco. I've got a box -o- old crap on my garage floor. I'll sift through that tonight and see if I can't get you dimensions if you like.

Fabulous job you are doing with that stub frame. BTW, Chrysler always painted their engine compartments body-color.

Thank you for that. I'm sure I can find one in the junk yard....but who knows how long it will be before I can get there.

Ok, I’ve searched my box of crap twice over and can’t find these... I’m beginning to suspect that they wound up in the scrap bin, unfortunately. Sorry, man.
