Three blocks or so west of the cigar store on 63rd, was a bar called The Midget Club. The pc morons would have hated that, except it was owned and run by real midgets. A midget guy and his midget wife. The bar wasn’t the usual height, but about the height of your kitchen table. They claimed they were both munchkins in the Wizard of Oz. Had pics from the movie hanging around the place. That was at least 40 years ago and they were probably in their 60s then so it could have been true. Long gone, but at least I got to have a couple of drinks there.View attachment 311909
Shame they caved to the PC crowd... another one bites the dust.
Maybe they should dress it up like Elizabeth Warren
Interesting thread. Missed it in '17 so read all 4 pagez. Several commentz from many of you guyz have Jared my memory bankz to several locationz scattered around our fair land but I guess I've been too much of a gypsy to zero in on any one location. Their IZ one little town in mid-state Wisconsin that I lived in during WWII that I'll never get back to and that I-94 replaced US12 when it bypassed the town in the mid '50. And the population haz increased a little over 100 more citizens since the 1950 census.(I've checked) My Dads Folks had a farm just a few miles out side the loop around Madison that we'd visit often and on the return trip up US12 after going thru' Baraboo and the "Dells" az we entered this little town the 1st thing that came into view waz the A&W Root Beer Stand. I'd sure like to stop there for ah Root Beer Float again before I leave this earth, Jer
You got married Mario? Congratulations. What's the name of the town, Jer? Me n my bride will be traveling to Tomah soon to do some fishin...

I seemed to have missed this thread the first time around. I live at a lake, but not on the water. I have a boat but don't get out on the water nearly often enough. My wife has lived here her entire life. This is a cove which we like to drop anchor and swim. Every time we do this we ask ourselves why don't we do this more often. This is home.
