And when I want to reach out and touch someone

I still have one in the Dakota. Not much happening on CBs nowadays. Most trucking companies don't allow them any more.
Really which ones, not that I was going there anyway. Wonder how many of them have guidelines on how to poop? Do they disallow TVs also? I cannot believe anyone would say oh okay I did not want to be entertained, or warned about a brake check ahead, and still take the job(must be a good one). I know mine is turned down quite a bit, but it is nice to have it's security especially in urban areas where traffic stops for no apparent reason.
Some of these companies are their own worst enemy.

The amateur radio crowd looks down on CB but I have to say I have had more fun on CB. I have also heard way worse language on the amateur bands.

At 13 I got my base station. A simple 40 channel base with a silver Eagle D104 mic. I met so many people on that radio including ( inadvertently ) my wife.
That radio is 40 years old now and I haven't turned it on in 35 years.
I've often wondered what the CB world is like these days...
Kids...when I got my first radio they only had 23 channels, and you were suppose to get a license that cost $20.
The D104 is, IMO, the best power mic ever made.

Is that from Kenwood Chrysler Plymouth in Cincinnati?
Lil' Red purchased in Peebles, Ohio. Cincinnati my birth town. As far as I know my coupe stayed in Ohio it's entire life until recently. I have fallen in love with that CB antenna on trunk lid. Bought the coupe from an over the road trucker ironically.

Back in the '70s-'80s I made my own twin antennas only because I built them and re enforced them with PVC against the speed and had them mounted az ah 13' 8" height indicator on my mirrors. I even made 8 " galvanized extensions changing the elevation need to know to 14' 6". Good to know when you haul the big stuff. Lot Lizards and Drug Dealers pretty much took over ch. 19 by the mid '90s, IMO. Jer

I have CB radio on my New Yorker. CB's were popular in 80's in Finland and I had this old antenna. I just had to buy some cheap radio and wire her up. Not much traffic nowdays, but it's just cool.

We use em every day in mining. Lots of hand helds but only the dedicated trucks that never leave the pit have radio set ups. I have to shoot my horse about every 2-3 years due to miles so I have yet to install one. It was real common back in Az but here in California the mines are more “lawn & garden” sized compared to the big monsters in Az.

I do have one I pulled from my 71 Torino but have yet to install it in the Fury. Thanks for reminding me...
