What is the best method to remove the square swaybar bushings?

I decided to change these out along with the front shocks.

I took out the bar and stood over it for a while. How the hell do I change these out? I have the shop manual and naturally it gives the example of the Satellite style bushings which have 2 piece clamps.

There is no way to squeeze these out over the pressed end. I was thinking to cut them out with a razor, soap up the new ones and wrestle with them and a six of beer.... anyone have a better method?

Drill the spot weld on the bottom and the C shaped section. Split with a chisel and bolt back together.

As mentioned above, cutting and replacing with bolt on clamps is the only way. However, if they are not cracked or falling apart just leave them in. Mine were still flexible and in good shape, so I just cleaned the sway bar up and reinstalled.

Thank you all for the info!
The upper ones were shot, so they're getting replaced, as are the strut rod bushings. I'll reinspect the square ones, if they're dry rotted, they're going.

I also found these replacement links that look pretty good from that other thread. At least there are good options out there.

Toss that sway bar and links in the recycle bin and buy a firm feel bar for the front...;)

I rebuilt the stock front end on my wagon with new everything and still had too much roll in the front end, so I purchased the 1.25" I think front bar from firm feel and this and was one of the better upgrades I have done, front end is way more stable compared to the stock set-up

I just tore one of them apart... for a lousy $50, I'm buying a set of links from RareParts. I just don't have the tools or shop to do this the other way.
