Dodge Caravan Discontinued After 36 Years

I used to think the same about MVs. I mocked them every time I could. Then I rode in my daughter's, 7 people plus beach stuff and 27 MPGs at 80 MPH. I was hooked. I rent them whenever I need a rental, a pick up us my second choice .

I plan on owning one in the next few years ...
You ever see that movie where Travoltas Caddy gets shot up and he has to rent a minivan? He gets everybody driving one.

Certainly not sexy or sporty, but probably the most functional vehicle ever. Chrysler and Iacocca definitely caught the rest of the auto industry flat footed. They went from saying it would never sell to rushing to come up with one of their own. Remember the Toyota Previa? Jeez. And unfortunately, Snotty is right. The Italians have treated Chrysler worse than the Germans. It all comes down to the almighty bottom line. Jeep and Ram are hugely profitable, but don’t expect them to worry too much about Chrysler when they still can’t sell their own cars here. Now the French are involved. I’m not expecting anything helpful from them either.

I actually thought the Pacifica replaced them a few years ago...

I can ask that right now about a lot of cars!! Such as....

'70s Toyota Corona or Corona Mk II
VW Dasher or Sirocco
Horizon or Omni
Porsche 924
Dodge Dynasty or Chrysler New Yorker of the '90s.
'70s Cilica
Ford LTD II
Monarch or Granada

I can go on.

Know someone who has a beautiful 1976 Celica Liftback which I saw on Saturday. Forgot to take a picture but saw the book on restoration. He even has a 1970 Datsun 610 and a 1983 Mazda GLC. My brother has a LTD II.

The ONLY beautiful Toyota has ever been produced was the circa 1990 Toyota Supra - it is actually timeless in my eyes....................:

Ooo. very nice Caravelle. I once looked at one with 78,000 miles four years ago. Not quite as clean but at $1500 not bad. Only problem is it wouldn't pass smog for the owner after two attempts. I offered less to him and to take it off his hands since he was going to have to put money into the car and I could repair myself. However, he said no and took it back for more work and a third try. Oh, well...
