The infamous 4-spd 76 New Yorker. Ask me anything.

I acquired the car out of a collection being thinned out in SLt Lake City
from months searching online from an obscure car site. $3,000.00.

What year was this? My Fury was in a Mopar collection out in Utah.

TRANSMISSION : A883 from a 66 Fury.
CAME FROM: Steve Hobby, owner of Mopar Fins.
PEDALS: A Frankenstein hybrid fab of a Formal and Jeep pedals.
WHY THOSE: I examined as many clutch pedal setups as I could find and the Jeep appeared it would be a good match.

Presume the engine was original to the car?
What are some of the upgrades that you had done?
How much of the 440 did you build yourself?

Why did the dash have to come apart? I love the pic of the jig set-up for the pedals. Why wouldn't anything from '69-'73 work?

I'm sure that you have told us in the past, but I'm going to be the guy who asks the sad question.

Why did you end up selling the car?

Thanks, Jeff

It kicked the ever loving **** out of me. Lol.
No, I wanted a Salon and this untouched, unmolested, little old lady low mileage "Survivor" Salon lookalike popped up on ebay, and I only have room for ONE toy.

How long did you own it after the conversion? How did it drive, were you satisfied with the result?

Me after the dash...
I think I would've lost my mind in that mass of wires.

I pulled the stock block and I put in a Winnie 440.
I blew that up so I built the old stock block using 100% new parts right down to the ARP. bolts. I tried to match the '69 440 HP specs as closely as possible.

While the conversion was complete, when I sold it it still had a couple of gremlins under the dash and needed new front seat upholstery from welding sparks. My stupid.
It dove like a stock 1976 Chrysler NYB. Faults and all.
Satisfaction? OMFG..... Driving a Mopar 4 spd again? I loved it. Came out perfectly.

I sold the car for $6,000.00, easily 1/2 what I had into it but recouping my money was never thought about for one second.
