For now anyway...
This one was brought to my attention by one of the guys I’ve sold parts to as soon as it popped up on FB. I happen to be first to respond to an ad with a short description and no pictures. ‘67 convertible in Missouri that was completely disassembled, may or may not be complete but included parts from a doner 4 door. So I struck up a conversation with the seller and asked if it was anywhere near Cuba where a good friend lives and it turned out to be 20 minutes away from him. I had my buddy go put eyes on it for me and what he found was the culmination of no less than 5 years worth of raccoon poop with an Imperial underneath. Even the shelves loaded with parts were covered in it but I made an offer anyway and bought it. Here are the pics my buddy took.

The previous owner took what was alleged to be a pretty nice car when he got it, completely dismantled it, sanded most of the paint off of it, repainted the engine room and door jambs maroon and then the project and the house were all but abandoned and left to the raccoons.

The car was originally gold on gold with a white top but the interior must have been absolutely roached because what was left of it was very rough, in fact the original dash wasn’t even there but the complete blue one from the doner car was. No fender tag or title but the VIN tag is there. My wife and I went and picked it up this week. I figured if nothing else we could visit my friend who I didn’t get a chance to see this year because of the virus. We ended up having some fun in between driving for 24 hours in 3 days.
Here’s what that was like.

Glad you got home safe and sound. Looks like you were smart to use the tow truck to get it out of there and then loaded it up for the ride home. How did you van do for you? Looks like you hit some nice weather for your travels.

no less than 5 years worth of raccoon poop

I can relate as my '59 Imperial was purchased by me in 1988. My car was stored in a barn away from where the owner lived. He rarely visited the barn. Some young kids gained entry into the barn, then the cars by breaking the vent windows and forcing down the driver's window. A family of raccoons found this by crawling along the driver's side fin getting into the car. They did this so many times thru the years I thought the paint was rubbed off but it was the mud from the animals. They destroyed the interior, even taking chunks out of the rubber brake pedal. I had to shovel the poop and interior out of the car. The day I looked at it at the barn, I opened the trunk to jump as the raccoons were in the trunk.

Thanks Mike! The van did great, it pulls like a champ. The weather was great but the wind did make the drive home just a bit more challenging.:steering:

Unfortunately no fender tag but from what I can tell from all the parts this thing was absolutely loaded! Power everything, ac, auto pilot, headlight Sentinal and possibly auto dimming headlights and am/fm radio. I think the column that’s in it is from the 4 door so I’m not sure if it had tilt/tele or not and it doesn’t have a sure grip.
Here’s the engine room.

Mika
I did say power everything and the doner car was loaded too so I have 2 cars worth of power vent parts.

It would have been just like off the page of the brochure when it was new.
