What did you do to your C-body today....

Well that tells more of the story knowing that the lower end was at least looked at and assessed. as mentioned, keep us posted. Still curious..

I am also very curious about the result, as it is only the second engine that I was allowed to work on. Of course I'll keep you posted.

Removed the ip put a limiter on it. Cleaned and painted the dash panels

Woke up Tina Patina from her winter nap this morning. Popped right over. She has new tank to carb upgrades couple years ago. Ran her for awhile to get the old gas moving...then some new fuel into her. She's definitely a warhorse...love her exterior scars. More miles on her this year is the goal.

Doc, you may have answered my question in an earlier post, not sure.. but! What made you choose her, needing work, compared to the others that needed only basic work?

She has really good bones...at first glance (only from some casual observers) an initial impression might be that she is a forgettable "wallflower"...I see the opposite. I don't recall the complete history on her going way, way back before Lance(forum member) had her. Obviously, she has had a number of tough years in the elements. But, now that I'm down to a smaller number of Imperials I am hoping to have more time and energy to drive them and I find there's always something to restore or upgrade as the rubber hits the road. Last year was a wake up call for me that I will not be that "guy" that let's them sit and degrade in storage. McGoldy is in the shop right now and Hazel Anne on deck for some rear suspension work.

I replaced the idler arm last night on my '75 NYB, I was able to source one locally, as well as a Pitman arm. Turns out the Pitman I will leave as it seems pretty tight. I am looking forward to taking her for a test drive to Lowes later this morning.

I received a set of 5 leaf rear springs and the hardware kit from Espo.
They will go on the 68 Fury II 4 door sedan.
I will likely install a set of shock absorbers after doing some research on this forum.
I would probably lean towards KYBs, but will keep an open mind about it.

I did the same on my 75 NYB, don't let the pitman deter you, yes its a tight fit, its supposed to be.. Once removed, clean the area with a wire brush and put lots of grease in between, She'll slip right in. At least from my experience..

Just fired Goldie up for the first time this year. Everything seems in order, went for about a 10 miles, just to warm her completely up. Topped off all fluids. She's ready for a cruise.

I installed a new gas tank in my 66 300. I also machined new door hinge rollers for the door stops out of stainless steel. Then installed them with stainless roll pins.

Me and my son finishing up the wiring getting ready to fire up the vert for the first time. We got the brakes done finally, and spun up a healthy amount of oil pressure. Even heard the engine crank for the first time.

This past year the project truly became a father and son project. I have been blessed with this kid that not only knows a lot more than me about electrical systems, but isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, lol.

It’s a beautiful thing.

This all started with a crappy looking battery tray that I took out and sent to have powder coated. Now look what I’ve done!:realcrazy::rolleyes:

and then I figured hey it’s easy enough to take the alternator bracket out and get it powder coated, then I want to replace all the radiator hoses and belts, so I thought what the heck I’ll pull the radiator and have it sent out to be rodded and cord. Then I said! hey why not pull the AC compressor off and have those bracket powder coated. Then I thought it was a good idea to pull the water pump housing, valve valve covers to be decreased and painted and also for easier access to the block to get it cleaned up and painted. It also gave me a chance to take a look at the valves, and thankfully they look fine.. What a soup sandwich I have created.:BangHead:

Classic "give a mouse a cookie". It's a slippery slope, these beasts.
