Well, bad news. I might have to sell my car to buy a house. This all depends on the FHA appraiser. The lawyer for the home owner sent me an email and a modification to the contract that states they are not willing to repair any deficiency's that the FHA appraiser finds. The house we are buying was built in 1888 and is a Victorian Farm House. I inspected it myself as I am a certified REAC inspector. I saw a few things that could be a problem, but the home owner said she would have those fixed, but other than those repairs the lawyer said that she wouldn't fix anything else. So,.it would be up to me to have any additional repairs completed by me or we would have to cancel the contract if I can't do the repairs. We have already put out a substantial amount of money to make this work and I can't afford any more. If it fails for anything from FHA, I would have to sell my car to have the repairs done. I'm not jumping to any conclusions as of yet, but that is the only way I can come with more funds if needed. I don't want to deplete my savings. After the FHA inspector comes out, I'm hoping the home owner will work with me. I don't want to sell my car.

Life happens sometimes....been there done that and it sucks. Nevertheless I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Who knows maybe something will drop in your lap at the last damn minute that will make it all good again. Hoping the best for ya bro.

Sorry to hear of your plight. Post pics and a price - maybe someone will see the car of their dreams and strike a deal with you.

That is tough brother! I sold my Demon in order to get the house we have now and I am now looking at getting the Aspen together to sell it so we can buy another house! LOL. But this would be the house that we die it if we are able to do it. But only time will tell. I wish you the best of luck and hope it all works out where you get the house and keep the car. Keep me up to speed on what is going on. I know it's freakin stressful when trying to get a house and more so when it doesn't go smooth.

Is this house up to current code? If this is part of the problem your dealing with, it's the sellers responsibility to have those fixed, not yours. Good luck

What kind of repairs are you afraid that might happen/blow the deal? Do you need to use fha to get the home? There is other loan sources.

Fha is a different animal. I re-plumbed one to close the deal.

Consumer loans are a pain in the a$$, went in to get a signature loan to buy most resent semi-trailer (because of its age) tons of paperwork she asked what it was for said a trailer for my big truck, a few clicks on her keyboard and a signature once printed I was pre approved for one on the business side easiest loan I ever got. 11 months from now I might have to buy something else like a c body yaaaaaaahoooo!

Hope it works out for the better and you keep your car.

Fingers crossed in the Motor City for you, that would suck to have to sell the car.

Truthfully, there will be more cars in your future. Do what you have to do to get into the house.

I'll play devils advocate, as I usually do. There are always other houses.............

Yes it was, but being poor at 18 I didnt have a choice, the Polara was it. It wasnt until I grew up a little that I had the van but by then I had a house and five kids.

I agree 100%...after owning more than 100 cars I told myself when looking at cars......."no need to shed a tear there will always be another one down the road"

Good luck with the house, it sounds like a cool house, and I'd rather have the house than the car. Hopefully you'll have both!
