It's a Poly hemispheric ("Poly") V8 mopar. Displacements varied. 318, 354 etc.

1961 engine code for 318 poly is located on the LF front face of the block: Will usually be RP2. Fury car serial for 318 poly will be RP2-H. This is the only poly for 1961 that is factory.

If the car is unmolested it's a 318 Poly.

If it was a Canadian car it would be a 313 poly. Same engine 3.88 bore instead of 3.91

It's without a doubt a poly. The valve covers alone make it a poly. As far as what displacement, as the others have said.

They are good motors with a great torque curve. The poly yahoo group is the place for hop ups to this motor. They can be built if one so desires.

So I was able to turn the motor with a breaker bar at the crank so I'm going to go ahead an change the oil clean the fuel intake and try and fire her up. This car was parked when running in the 70s and it it marks 65k miles so theres a good chance she will fire up. It will be an interesting thing to try lol
