part numbers for heat/AC vacuum switch?

I bought an NOS vacuum switch on eBay, part #3431020...for my '70 Suburban non-ATC wagon. The vacuum part now works great, but the AC compressor and blower motor stay on all the time regardless of what mode button is depressed. I've heard that Chrysler did that on purpose in some later years...

    disc brake conversion....stock or aftermarket?

I just finished the Hot Rod Power Tour in my '70 Plymouth Suburban. We did about 1800 miles in a week, and I have a new appreciation for having confidence in brakes. My unrestored 383 wagon has factory power drums already, and I'm considering discs for the front. I have some B and E bodies...

WANTED Need some plastic AC ductwork from a '70 C body

I'm looking for two pieces of AC ductwork. The large "A/C distribution" piece that goes from the airbox to the center dash air outlets...it appears to be part #2936267. I can't find an illustration or part number in my parts book for the other piece, but it is the ductwork that goes from the...

    Hot Rod Power Tour

Is anyone else going on the Tour next week? I'm doing it for the first time and and am doing the "Long Haul" in my '70 Plymouth Suburban. It's a former fire chief's car and is really easy to spot. Hoping to see some other C-bodies on the journey!

rear side marker bulb type for '70 Suburban

Checking all the bulbs everywhere and noticed the rear side marker bulb contained in the left tailight housing is burned out. The small bulb is so oxidized that I can't read the bulb type and it may not even have been the correct one. Anyone know the correct type?

    dumb license plate light question...

Working on getting all the lights working on my '70 Suburban wagon and the two license plate bulbs appear to be bad. How do you get into these things to change the bulb??

    vacuum trouble?

I've got a '70 Plymouth Suburban that has a very long-term dormant factory AC system. First thing was replacing the inoperative blower motor and this week, took it to a shop that can deal with old car AC systems to evaluate what all is bad and make a decision on a repair or install a retrofit...

70 Fury hood engine callout hole position

I've got a 70 Fury Suburban with a 383. The damaged original hood had been replaced by a previous owner with one from a parts car of the same color. Unfortunately though, the parts car was a 318 and had no mounting holes for the "383" emblems. I have the original emblems, but no reference hood...

    1970 Factory front sway bars...

Do C bodies follow the general pattern of B bodies in that the big block cars had front sway bars and the 6 cylinder and small blocks didn't? if that is the case, is adding a factory (or, I guess..an aftermarket) sway bar to a non sway bar equipped 1970 C body.....a bolt on operation? looking...

    Replacing shocks...any tips?

It's time to finally install the shocks on this '70 Fury. I have changed quite a few shocks on B and E bodies and the rears look about the same configuration on this car. when I had all the wheels off the other day, I was looking at how the front shocks are mounted compared to what I'm more...

No run situation with '70 318

My '70 Fury has been sitting in the garage for about a year since last starting it, due to bad tires and not being able to find 3 correct wheels to mount the new tires on.... anyway, tried this weekend to start it, and it would not. Figured it might need some help pulling fuel from tank...

early Sunday morning exercise run...and pics.

The subject came up in another thread about driving and enjoying our cars...relatively incognito. I mentioned that I have exercising my cars early on Sunday mornings...out in the country, and someone else chimed in that they do that as well. Today was the first Sunday I've been home and the...

for those that were interested in seeing the original tires on my '69 Fury...

I just shot some pictures of both the repros that are on the car, and one of the originals still mounted on the original wheel. First the original: And now the repro BF Goodrich Silvertowns on the car now:

    beter late than never...

Hi all, I got so into posting questions with my new membership status yesterday, that I sorta forgot to come here and introduce myself. I live just west of Richmond, VA and have had B and E body Mopars most of my life. I always liked the Cs, and when a '70 Fury convertible came to my attention...

questions about rear springs on '70 Fury convertible

Since I'm considering taking this car on a very long road trip, Route 66, I'm a little concerned about how squirrelly it is at speed. I feel pretty confident that a high speed avoidance manuver would not end well. It's a 318, so I am thinking it probably has softer rear springs than a big block...

WANTED looking for 3 or 4 correct stock wheels for my '70 Fury

I'm pretty much a correct numbers guy, so I'm trying to put together a full set of correct wheels for my '70 Fury. It only has two correct ones now. According to the parts book, the wheels I need were probably the most common ones used on '70 and '71 C bodies. I don't have a parts book beyond...

removing and installing a 318 in '70 Fury...and fuel economy

I'm new on this site, because my C body specific knowledge is somewhat lacking. I've had a lot more experience with B bodies and some with E bodies. I have a '70 318 Fury convertible with factory A/C, (dead for years of course..contemplating the Sanden/134a conversion for efficiency) that I'm...
