    Dash smoke

Hello fellas (and fell-ettes) from sunny warm Tampa. Yesterday I was driving the '67 Newport Custom, when I noticed an odd smell. I stopped and had breakfast, and took off again. The smell came back, and I glanced down to see smoke coming from under the dashboard. I pulled off the road but the...

    Nervous about seat re-upholstery

I have been putting off having the seats in my 65 NYer Town Sedan re-upholstered. First of all it's hard to find a decent shop to do the work these days. I go to shops, but I don't ever see people sewing anything. There are no employees it seems. I expect to see lots of noisy sewing...

Carb issue?? Ignition issue? Bad gas??

Greetings from Tampa. My 67 Newport Custom with 383 and 2bbl Stromberg started shuttering way back in February. This car has been rock-solid since I re-commissioned her in 2019. A smooth runner with no issues whatsoever until February. I thought it was a vacuum leak, but none could be...

    Best manifold/carb deal for 383 4bbl upgrade

Hello folks, I am considering upgrading my 67 Newport Custom to a 4-barrel setup. I am not trying to make some kind of hot rod out of the car. The existing Stromberg WWC 2bbl needs to go, so I am thinking of upgrading to 4 barrels. who sells a reasonably-priced manifold and 4bbl for the 383...

    Cooling issue '65 New Yorker

Hello C-body folks. I need a fan shroud for my '65 new Yorker. It didn't come with one when I bought it. Does anyone know of a used unit I could buy, or is there a new unit out there? Everything was fine until I installed an aftermarket AC system. SO, I had the factory radiator re-cored...

    Too many PMs???

Hey Joey, it seems that the forum thinks I've posted too many PMs (15, ooooh, so many over 5+ years!), and now it has cut me off with no way to rectify the situatIion. What is the deal??? It's a forum on C-Body Chryslers (the unloved stepchild of all Chrysler products), so Jesus it's a miracle...

Headlights are out, tail lights OK

Here's a bit of a long story. Two weeks ago, I drove the 67 Newport Custom to a car show over in Lakeland, about 50 miles away. People were driving like idiots as usual, so I flicked on my headlights and put on the hi-beams so they could see me coming. I got to Lakeland and parked the...

    Who sells leaf springs?

Hello fellas, the bushings on my leaf springs (67 Newport Custom Fasttop) need to be replaced. I called the shop that did my NYer front end, and the VERY knowledgeable C-body guy there advises just to get new springs. He says there would be too many hours getting the old bushings out, and...

NOT MINE '62 Chrysler tail lights ALERT $200

There is set of '62 Chrysler tail lights on Facebook Marketplace out of Brooksville, FL (north of Tampa) for $200. The set looks pretty good, the red lenses appear to be in good shape. I'm just alerting my C-body brothers of this, in case somebody needs these tail lights. I'm not too good at...

Check ETSY first for fabric and vinyl!!

Howdy fellas (and fell-ettes), it's Rich here in Tampa with a great tip. In my quest to find vinyl and fabric for my '65 New Yorker (and my quest to avoid buying from SMS), I searched the interwebs and was directed to the ETSY website, where I discovered a seller there that has a lot of NOS...

    67 Newport hard to RE-start

Hello fellas and fell-ettes, I'm having an issue with my 67 Newport 383 2bbl. It will cold start just perfectly, warm up, come off the choke and run like a dream. No running issues at highway speeds or in town. BUT, if I'm driving around and stop and shut the car off for a few minutes (or...

    Rim ID...Mopar, Buick, or......??

I have these rims in my shop, and I'm not sure if they are Mopar or GM or whatever. I figured there would be some keen observers in the group who would know. Rim A I think is a 14" Mopar rim. Lugs are 2-11/16" center-to-center. Rim B might be a Buick 15" rim. Lugs are about 2-7/8"...

    Is this interior correct?

Take a look at this really nice 6-window Town Sedan on Bring-A-Trailer.com. Is this a correct factory interior? The description says the darker vinyl is black, but it looks more like the dark turquoise used with that turquoise body color. 1965 Chrysler New Yorker Sedan

    More fender tag madness!!

Thanks to all who responded to my thread about my 67 Newport. All the info you guys provided checked out. Now, I decided to decode the tag on my 65 6-window town sedan! No real mysteries on this tag, except one: The scheduled build date reads as 609, so that would mean June 9, 1965. BUT...
