A year ago, Brekina announced that they would be releasing a 58 Plymouth Fury in their line of highly detailed (mostly European) 1/87 scale line of plastic miniature cars. At that time, they released a photo of the unpainted test shot. Now, finally, they have shown painted preproduction examples of the upcoming releases. Still no ETA, but, looks like it should be soon. These will look great on my HO scale model railroad. At about 2"- 2.5" long, these will be about two thirds the size of a comparable 1/64 scale (S scale) car by Hot Wheels, Ertl, Greenlight, or Matchbox.

Thanks for the heads up on this...definitely a "mandatory" purchase , so far the Woodland scenics almost correct '57 Plymouth hardtop and the Athearn '58 Plymouth station wagon has been running on the roads of my Layout! I think I'll get one of each colour ...looks like There be a Fury lurking in behind
the red Hardtop!. I checked out the "C" body wagon tip of yours as well , that one too will need to be purchased , I never thought any one would ever produce a model of the '74 to '77 series of Chrysler wagons! Maybe a Gran Fury or a Royal Monaco is up next ... I can certainly hope. So far I've managed to obtain the two '68 Plymouths you showed plus some A-108 Dodge vans and pickups, '77 Dodge rescue trucks and a few Monaco and Fury Police cars. I'll round them up and take a few pics ...Busch even cranked out a Monaco sedan with Ramcharger graphics!

The NEO 76 Chrysler Town and Country wagon will be hard to find. Check E-bay. NEO discontinued their line of 1/87 scale vehicles several years ago. That means their 57 Imperial has also been discontinued. Oxford diecast has been doing several 1/87 scale Mopars though. Announced for early next year is a 59 Plymouth police car. Already available, from Oxford, are 59 Imperial coupe, 68 Charger, 69 Daytona, 57 Dodge Sweptside, and 42 Chrysler Town and Country and a 47 DeSoto, 61 300 convertible and a 48 Dodge pickup.

...and, several years ago, Hot Wheels briefly made a 1/87 Superbird and a 1/87 70 Challenger that actually both look good with a wheel swap and a little silver or chrome paint for the bumpers. The discontinued Ricko 71 Cuda vert can still be found at relatively cheap prices, so its Rally wheels are a good source for a wheel swap for the discontinued Hot Wheels cars as well as the Model Power/ Schuco 70 Cuda. The Oxford charger would be also be a source for wheels for the two Hot Wheels 1/87 Mopars.

And don't forget that BoS (Best of Show) makes (or recently made) the 59 Dodge in 1/87 scale.

The Classic Metalworks (Mini Metals) 1.87 scale 1957 Chrysler 300 and 41 Plymouth have been out of production for 10 or 15 years. But their 1950 Dodge, Plymouth and DeSoto sedans might be easier to find.

The Atlas "Masterpiece" and the BoS (Best of Show) Chrysler Airflows have both been discontinued. Revell's line up up 1961 1/87 scale Mopar promo models (each available in seven factory colors) haven't been available since the mid 60's.

If you have skills in painting and detailing very small resin models, Peter Rings and his company 87RPM does several 1/87 Mopar kits that can build into nice models with a skilled modeler. Peter can be contacted through Facebook, and only takes Paypal. He is in Berlin, so international shipping is involved.

Included in his line of resin kits are '62, '64, and '70 Sport Fury 2 door hardtops, 58 Dodge 4 door, 63 Polara 2 door hardtop, 73 Fury 4 door, 74 Monaco 4 door, 69 Charger, 69 Road Runner hardtop, 67 GTX hardtop, 65 and 68 Barracuda fastbacks, 65 Valiant 4 door and 65 Valiant wagon, 62 and 63 Chrysler 300 2 door hardtop and 65 Imperial Crown 4 door, and 57 Dodge COE truck cab. Hamburg Decals may be his company too and makes decal kits for detailing many of the 87 RPM models. Decal sheets from Hamburg includes trim details such as side and rear trim, emblems and sometimes factory style striping, or wood grain (for some wagons). Wheels and tires are not included in the kits.

As you look at photos of the built up kits, remember these cars are only about 2" to 2 1/4" long.

The 87RPM models in these pictures were built and photographed by John Tyson.

Hi Here's my small pile of 1/87th Mopars , I went rummaging around the net and that NEO Chrysler is going to be a tough one ....Sold out every where ... For a while I was concentrating on getting Locomotives for the roads I wanted to cover... My last significant one is now home ... so I'll have to go wandering for cars to fill my roads... I'll have to check out that fellow in Berlin!
