For another post, I looked up production number of Plymouth convertible 4 speeds, (in the Galen Govier book). While doing this, I noticed (40) 67 300 4 speeds, (20) 440 & (20) 440HP, (none for 68). It didn't break down body type, anyone ever seen or heard of these?

John Lee said by Standart Catalog of Chrysler, the production runs out with the 66er Chrysler, but I never saw such a thing..only a few 65er..

Would really like the source of the Galen #s, they seem off on several fronts based on personal experience. For example, in 67-68 the 4-speeds were only supposed to go in H & L codes, it just doesn't seem to make any sense that they would appear with standard 350HP 440's.

In the old newsletter "Shifty C-Body Express", there were 2 documented 1967 300 2-door hardtops with L-code & 4-speed in their registry. The 4-speed was reportedly not offered in 1968 Chryslers. One collector supposedly had 2 68 300's but they were never documented; they were likely converted.

I saw it but if you read the comments.........?
Some did see the option in a book but if there were 40 build somenone here must have seen or remember a original one........!!!

I saw one over twenty years ago. Unfortunately, it was in Mather Junk Yard in Sacramento. At that time Mather was a Mopar only yard. It was black with a 4-speed. I thought it was a shame it was in the yard.

Interesting. I have a 67 300 vert 440TNT but it's automatic. Not sure I'd want such a big car with 4 speed. Would it be hard to drive?? I drove an 81 Dodge truck 318 4 speed. It was ok but don't think I'd like driving it often.

I would love it! No harder to drive than any other manual transmission car, or truck for that matter.

From the '67 Chrysler sales catalog-

In the old newsletter "Shifty C-Body Express", ...
Would that newsletter have been published by a guy named Pippart?
If so, I spoke to him back in the early 90s when I first got my 4-speed Fury, he was doing a registry for 4-speed Cs. Probably found him via an ad in the back of Muscle Car Review or something. I hope he's still around, still collecting data. Would be nice to see such data, too!

Does one of your verts have black leather bucket seats? Mine does. Interior is still in good original condition. I've thought about getting seats redone but no one has a kit for the 67 300.

Seems like C-body 4-speeds were from 65-68, but with Chrysler was 65 and 67 only (for some strange reason).
I believe we covered this topic in the past, I'll see if I can find it. I did post in it, and here's a snip from my archives.
IIRC the discussion revolved around 3-4 cars that were of unproven provenance. (like this yellow one)

It's something I noticed. Though I never had one I always considered the 67 300 coup or convertible as my favorite C body. A four speed in one of those, 440 or 440HP, would be a blast to have and drive.

Love mine. The car was advertised in the Chrysler 300 newsletter. It was near me... but I had NEVER seen a 67 300 before!! The 66 300 was my favorite, so the 67 was as close as I could get.

I should add, the first word my dad said when he saw the car was "Wow". He wasn't a car enthusiast and I was surprised he didn't try to say that I'd be wasting my money getting such an old car.
