Not mine. This Chrysler ragtop has been for sale in Coniston near Sudbury, ON for a month. The current owner has owned it for four years; he bought it from a long-term previous owner who repainted it in the original FP6 Teal Poly and replaced the top (originally V3X black with glass window, now white with a "very clear" plastic window). The current owner put new tires on, and has driven it about 2,000 miles. He stores it in a container for protection.

The pictures I have seen support the seller's claims that the car is solid. The interior is in good shape (see photos; yes, all the windows work properly). He does not think that the trunk floor was ever repaired and "for sure there were no patches or work on the rear quarters or the rest of the car for that matter (and) the under side is really solid."

I started looking at this 'vert in late September, and to be honest I am still not reconciled with the idea of passing on it. I don't mind that the car has very few options (radio, power brakes, fender repeaters -- that's it!) as I really like the color, which is one of my favorites. Holding me back are the fact that, as the owner himself told me, the repaint is not perfect (see pictures below) and that the engine is a 383-2, whereas what I would really like is a 'vert that has had a 383-4 from birth.

Since this car is not a "must have" for me, I am posting about it here in the hope that it goes to a good home. If the seller still has it in Spring, though, I will go and have a thorough look in person -- possibly with @My70monaco.

Nice looking car. It's very easy to make a 2bbl into a 4bbl. If I were looking I wouldn't let that small detail stop me from buying if I liked the car. Since the top is "wrong," why care about the carburetor?

It may seem ironic (given that Medina, my '71 Monaco, does not currently sport the original GY9 color), but originality matters to me. The top can always be corrected later, but not the engine -- and the 383-4 in the fuselage C's had higher compression (10:1 versus the 9.2 in the 2bbl, hence premium fuel requirement) and came with HP manifolds. Furthermore, the 383-4 cars had a high stall speed torque converter. All of those things can be changed, but I would not want to do so.
