Car spent years in a garage in Ohio (1974 - early 2000's). I purchased the car in 2005 from the original owner with 32.8k miles. I have driven the car to Carlisle, PA and the Mopar Nationals (Columbus, OH) every year. Selling because I don't drive my other car enough. $6,000 Chrysler Dodge Plymout

Guys, this car is a VERY nice 71 Sport Fury . It has been in Carlisle many times . It appears to be fairly priced

That is a pretty cool machine. I have seen it at Carlisle as well and had to do a double take at the console. I am thinking of downsizing myself but there always is temptation...

I REALLY wanted to buy Bob's car and he was kind enough to send me a ton of pictures. I absolutely love the car but finances won't allow me to buy it at this time. :(

Someone needs to love this car. Just think of how great it would look with a set of road wheels on it.

Dave, reach out to Bob. He is cutting back to 1 C Body for a variety of reasons.

Bill

My dad would have loved to have Bob's car. A four door hardtop with buckets and console

He should get it then, I know he’s got a good tow vehicle to haul it home with.

That car is about 5 miles from me. I knew of the guy, and had emailed him, but never met in the past. Imagine my surprise when that big 'blue' picture popped up in my craigslist email alert. So I called him tonight, and we had a nice chat with a vow to meet before the car sells.

FYI - he told me the car is not blue, but more of a turquoise than what the pictures show.

That's my kinda car - SF, and a hardtop. It's nice, but not so perfect that I have to be afraid for it, and then protecting it fanatically - reasonable care will be sufficient. Good for hauling the kids to an occasional thing around town. In my mind the Road Wheels, HP manifolds and a dual-snorkel came up from the basement and were installed very quickly. And if I had to sell it in the next few years for some reason I wouldn't lose my tail on it.

Oh, if I only had a garage space. Anyone want to buy a 65 Fury project car???:BangHead:

sometimes I don't get.
The amount of possible execuses "why to not buy a car" never seems to stop.

Garage space?

This might be a problem if you live in downtown NYC or San Francisco but nowhere else in the USA. I am sure you can find a garge in your town, the neighbour town or somewhere else around the next 20 miles if needed and park your project car there.

You don't have a house or kids. You made a choice and can handle the finances . It doesn't make sense to most to pay 1500 a year for storage when you can put that money elsewhere.

what makes sense or not depends on everyones own personal situation.
No matter how good or bad it is. It is individual.
As a result it is just a question of what you can or want to afford.

But looking at it with accuracy:
Buying a C-body project car to restore makes financially never sense.
No matter how rich or poor you are.
It does not pay out financially so it is wasted money anyway.

Regarding our member "Fury Fan" and his statement he did not say "I can't afford to buy it". Or "I can't afford to rent another garage".He just complained that he hasn't got a garage for it. There are solutions for this problem. And if he has the resources to buy the 71 SF he might be able to spent the x-tra bucks for another garage.

You stick a project car somewhere out of sight and by something turnkey and chances are good that you don’t see the project car again util you decide it’s probably time to sell it.
