Ok, I don't mind sharing. I did it my way and didn't have any manual etc, so to the best of my memory this is how i remember doing it..
Remove the glove box, this gives you a good view inside dash.
The metal dash plate on top of dash (with defrost vents), closest to the windshield will pry up on the edge closest to you and then pull towards you to release the clips, there are no screws.
Remove all the screws along the bottom front lower edge of the dash pad, you have to lay down and look up underneath the front lower edge of pad. I found one screw also at the drivers side end where door closes, I didn't find a screw on the passenger side. Remove the screws on top of dash pad edge that were hidden by the metal panel. The pad should then come off.
Remove both sides lower kick panels.
Remove the plastic cover below steering column, it had four screws.
Remove two nuts holding the steering column in place and let steering column hang down. It will rest on the bottom metal panel that you will be removing, I supported the column later with a small jack stand just so it was not resting on its own. The column needs to hang down to get the Dash Bezel off.
Remove the Dash Instrument bezel, first remove the four screws on the bottom edge, have to lay down again and look up. ONce thee screws are out the top of panel is clips that release when gently prying it out. Unplug any electrical connectors to the switches on panel.
Remove all the screws on the top edge of lower metal panel that runs the length of the dash. Remove the two bolts, one at each end of the metal panel that screw to the kick panel area. You have to unplug any electrical connections to any switches or ash tray etc., as it comes off.
There is a long vent directing floor air on the bottom of the Heater box that is held in by three or four screws that needs to be removed, I actually removed this as one of the first things I did but should not matter if its done at this point.
The vent opening that directs the air to the vents on the center of the dash pad can be removed by removing the three or four screws on the bottom edge of it and one on the drivers side of it, then pull down and out. The top edge of it has an edge that fits in to a grove that holds the top in place. There is a vent hose on the left side that just pulls off easily.
That should be enough to give you the room to remove the box. But not done yet...
I disconnected all the small vacuum lines on the heater box to the door control actuators and labeled them. I removed the one manual vent cable on the top of the heater box and unplugged the electrical connector to the resistor pack on the front of the box. This should prepare removal regarding inside work...if I haven't forgot anything..lol.
Engine side of firewall disconnect the heater lines to heater core. Disconnected the A/C lines to the evaporator, and remove the square block expansion valve (held on by two counter sunk Allen head screws after removing AC lines), expansion block didn't look like it would fit through hole in firewall.
There are six studs on the firewall with nuts on them, four are on the passenger side and two in the middle of firewall. Once they are removed the heater box with a little encouragement came out.
