383, hard start when warm

Trying to get an idea on what could be the problem, fires right up in the morning but after driving it takes a bit to turn over, sometimes a small back fire from the carb . Has new plugs, electronic ign, and a new Edelbrock 650 carb. Thanks.,

has a spacer, also using ethanol free gas.

Do you mean it's turning over slowly? If so, I'd back the ignition timing off a few degrees and try it.
