61 Fury Restoration

No one seen me do this. Thankfully there is no code enforcement were I live.
This happened back in 1992. When I was living in Palm Bay, FL

I remember when my dad got snotty with a code enforcement officer. He was detailing a friends car . He had it on jack stands to clean underneath the car . The neighbors had a P.O.S BMW . When code enforcement gave the neighbor hell about his car then he came over and gave my dad a hard time because the car was on jack stands. My dad asked the code enforcement officer this "Whats the matter ? Can't you tell the difference between a show car and a piece of junk?"

Well, it's a slow process, but hang in there and you'll get the job done. Looking good.

I got to purchase metal to make rear fender panels, If I had the cash I would take it to a body shop and have them finish it for me. I even took it out for a short drive yesterday down the street I live on.

I started to clean and polish the stainless steel . I know there are some dents but they will be repairedWP_20150519_001.jpgWP_20150519_002.jpgWP_20150519_003.jpgWP_20150519_004.jpgWP_20150519_005.jpg

I know there has not been much done on the car my dad let a friend borrow is metal cutter and has not got it back yet. My mom will be visiting her sister and will get it from him . I am trying to find things to do on the car. I am also trying to figure out if the bottom rear quarter panel to a '60 plymouth would work on my '61. I see the fender design is identical.

I learned the wheel arch on the '60 and the '61 plymouth are identical so I can use the bottom rear quarter panel to a '60 on a '61 plymouth

No comments lately but I got this for my '61. I did surveys on line but when I got enough points I redeemed it for some money and I spent the money I got for doing the survey on this.I got this for $100.00 shipped. I have seen 1 of these go for $425.00 on ebay. My very last resort will be a paint and body shop the only 2 good shops I know is Buckmans and Marks in Melbourne, FL WP_20150916_006.jpg
