61 Fury Restoration

I used the Eastwood kit.
For the price, I could have got 20 tubes of epoxy and had the same results. Shrinking.

I am sorry this happened but I do not know what to tell you . I have a rule on my newly restored aero wheel clean hands touches this wheel no greasy hands allowed

Nice work restoring the Wheel. I have cracks in my '64 New Yorker steering wheel to, and looking for ways to restore it.

That is what my dad used to restore my Aero. Here is more of my work but this was done by hand I removed thne plymouth trunk script but I asked for help on the hood script. I also just replaced my car hop tray and fake burger and fries WP_20150319_003.jpgWP_20150319_005.jpgWP_20150319_006.jpgWP_20150319_009.jpgWP_20150319_002.jpg

I just bought a pair of NOS back up lenses for my '61 off ebay. I also paid for my insurnace for another year but there is no road side this time the car is not going any were until its done but there will be test drives. I raised my value up to $18,200 I will raise it again next year . When its full restored I will have the value to $25-$30K

Here is some more photos The back up lenses were removed the drivers tail light lens and the side trimming was removed and I sanded in those areas I also discovered under the trimming to the rear of the car is the original paint . I believe that the trimming was never removed when the car was 1st repaintedWP_20150327_002.jpgWP_20150327_003.jpgWP_20150327_004.jpgWP_20150327_005.jpgWP_20150327_006.jpgWP_20150327_007.jpg

I did some more block sanding on the hood. I also did more on the drivers side but when I got to bare metal I primered those spots . When my dad repairs and welds the rusted spots I will do more block sanding then he will air sand then primer the body then I will block sand again. Then when that is done the car will be painted.WP_20150401_001.jpg

What color are you going to paint it? 2 tone?

The same color red and white. It was painted once before . I discovered original paint under the trimming because it was never removed from the last paint job so who ever painted the car last did not do a very good job

I am waiting for my dad to remove the rest of the trimming. Then I will do more blocksanding. I also bought spare tail light lenses and a extra back up light with the lens attached to the chrome. I never hurts to have spare parts for your fowardlook. If I can get it at a reasonable price I will grab it
My dad is having me do the easy part . Then the air sanding welding of the panels primering the car more block sanding then the paint .
