If you ever lose nuts or studs from rear air deflector during disassembly/-re-assembly, do not despair. Remove the tail light Assy and fish around in the cavity (circular hole access) with a magnet set attached by electrical tape to a straightened metal clothes hanger.

Found some argent (silver) from Year One. Going to try it on my hubcaps.

Unfortunately for now the peach and cake will have to wait until there is more dough($$$$), but in the meantime at least the roof will stop being exposed to the elements...got some color on it...”like painting a cruise liner”, the painter commented...

Another view. Going to get another spray of color, then clear coated.

As I look at this photo it is interesting to consider this design as a link in the evolution of the automobile, from the old sedan deliveries, to the modern minivan and SUV. Hauling people and cargo...

Are going to repaint the whole car or are the pictures lying about the smoothness of the roof?

For right now, the rest of the car is going to have to wait. I am getting the roof and tailgate area done only.

Not sure how pictures can “lie”(?)

I refer to for sale ads where the car looks better than in reality and that is the reason for asking if the roof is only dirty because of other work on the car.

It’s getting a 2nd coat of paint on the roof and tailgate surround only, after what you see here, plus clear coat. So yes, it’s going to get cleaned up.

Me too. I have learned to be patient. Sometimes, anyway. Good things come to those who wait.

Got my first peek at the new paint on the tailgate/roof. The shop is fixing a reverse pivot shaft leak while it’s in, so it’s up on the lift. Pleased with the color and finish.

I think I like the old colors because nowadays they are so uncommon. Modern cars are all white/silver/black/gray/red. Nothing wrong with that but it is nice to see something different every now and then.
