I don't know if I find these cars or they find me. They are honestly my least favorite fuselage. This one is a twin to the one I parted out last year. It is probably my second favorite color for the model after the gold. Which coincidently this morning I was watching the video of the gold one with the wide white walls on youtube. Maple Motors has it.
Unfortunately that one has a lot of rust.

I left a message with the seller of this one. I'm going to see if he will send me a pic of the fender tag. I'm curious how close the production and options are to the one I had.

You can see it is one that looks great from the right perspective. Obviously needs a top and paint repair.

That link didn't seem to work for me.

Try this one:

1973 CHRYSLER NEWPORT COUPE - cars & trucks - by dealer - vehicle...

Looks like a nice car overall with unusual options as far as we can tell at least.
Power door locks but no power windows?

I also see a/c, remote ouside rear view mirror and speed control.......................and road wheels.

Dealers don't seem to list miles on cars but given how nice the interior looks, it could be pretty low.

Thank you for posting about CL23M3C177511. For some reason your link does not work, here it is.

The car looks like it may need a new top (cue the RHS A-pillar and the area below the rear window) but the interior looks to be in really good shape (save the headliner). I wonder why there are no photos of the engine bay. Look forward to seeing the tag!

You must have already seen this car around and have the tag?

I don't know why I can't post a link now. I put links in the cars I posted yesterday and there is nothing on the post other than a blank space where the link would be.

Nope, that's why I am hoping that you get the tag pic and post it. The car looks very nice and the color combo is a great one. With burnished red (re?)paint, road wheels and a white interior (looks to be C6XW ) and white vinyl top, it really looks sharp. In fact, save for the wheels, it looks like a Newport cousin of @Olaf Seiler's 1973 NYB coupe.

i like it. too tall $ for me for what it needs, too far away from me for economic transport ... but really nice. hope it finds a good home.

Now I see it the vin is at the bottom the add.

No call back yet. They may be closed today.
I'll call tomorrow if they don't call me first.

I wonder if it's consignment, I'll ask.
If it's not, that could be a trade in option for somebody.

The interor in this car is for a Newport custom and this car is just a Newport. It must have been added to the car and it didn't come with it. Also road wheels were probably added too. I always liked that interior. In fact I have one just like it in storage out of a totaled 73 Newport custom to use at a later date and car.

I disagree with that part of your post for two reasons:

1. first, while there is some evidence that the door panels may have been taken out and put back in (note the creases at the edges), and while the seats look to be in eye-poppingly good condition (especially compared to the headliner and the hard interior plastics), I find it hard to believe that the white headliner and interior plastics are not original;

2. second, AFAICT from the Color & Trim Book to which I linked yesterday (copied below from the Hamtramck Registry), the C6XW interior was available on the '73 Newport (CL code) but not on the Newport Custom -- see here.

The C&TB information is consistent with the Sales Brochure, copied below from fuselage.de:

It is also consistent with the information in the Salesman Pocket Guide: C6XW was an option for the Newport (with the buckets looking a lot like the H6XW buckets on the "plain" NYer) but not for the Newport Custom.

Now this is interesting. Do you happen to have kept the tag of that parts car? If it is indeed a Newport Custom and the interior is C6XW (or C6X9), then this piece of factual information would contradict all three documents above and constitute a very helpful addition to the 1973 Chrysler Thread -- I'd love for you to post it there.

I stand corrected on the seats. I pulled out my color and trim book as well and see that it does say optional for newport. Now here is the interesting part. I have seen this interior in two Newport customs. One for sale on line and the other from the totaled Newport custom that I got the interior out of . I distinctly remember on the totaled one it had the Newport custom badging on the c pillar vinyl top and remember the cool color combo of true blue metallic black top and white interior. So how can that be? Since the car was totaled I just got the seats. I had no reason to get the tag and the car is long gone .Maybe somehow you could those seats in a custom. I know I saw it on 2 cars

It is also interesting that those seats are indeed available for a regular New Yorker, but only for a 4 door hardtop. If you wanted bucket seats in a New Yorker 2 door hardtop, you had to go to the more upscale bucket seats in a Brougham model only.

It might be possible that despite what all the available sources say is the same - that during production a running change might have been made to accomodate those in a Newport Custom as well. If a New Yorker could be equipped with them in a 4 door hardtop, then why not in a Newport Custom since there were no bucket seats available at all in the Customs but one could get them in the regular Newports. But New Yorker Broughams had their own bucket seats available so why none available in a Newport Custom? Maybe "Custom" was to designate elegant where Newport was trying to express "sporty" at least in a 2 door hardtop.

I did notice that in 1971, however, similarly there were no bucket seats available in a Newport Custom but they were available in a Newport. But then there was still the 300 model line as well to consider.

All I can say is that there seems to have been a lot of confused thinking going on in Product Planning in those days.............................................

Like they say with Chrysler products. Never say never! They did some wild things

Well, maybe there will be an update on this thread? Or on another.

The dealer called me back this morning on the car. I was driving and dealing with escorting a truck and trailer in traffic so I asked if I could call back.

I called back about 6 hours later and the dealer told me the car sold.
To the Netherlands.
I couldn't get the tag info.

I'm guessing a broker seen this thread and jumped on it. It makes sense. It was at a dealer that is a couple hours from Seatac.

Maybe a member bought it, who knows.

Thank you for the update. Did you get a photo of the tag by any chance?

Unless there was some awful stuff hiding under the shiny paint (for example, I wonder what caused the stains on the interior rear-window surround), this attractive car was IMHO a very good deal. I hope that the buyer posts about it here!

I could not get the tag. It was a sold car by the time I could call back.
I wanted to compare it to the one I had last year. But now I see I don't have that tag either. It will have to wait until I see it again.

I think it was all the money and that's if the paint can be matched. If not, it's a lot more money.
Plus shipping and a broker may be in there.
By the time the new owner has it in possession and repaired I'm guessing at least 15k.
Which is probably pretty good in the Netherlands.
