I stumbled across a picture of my '79 Trail Duster in Sunburst Orange that I was telling you about. Scanned from a polaroid so the quality isn't that great.View attachment 120027
I'm looking for one but they are very hard to find!

That's sweet. A buddy had a "79 Ramcharger when we were in high school. Beast of a vehicle. Loved it immensely! I've looked at a couple, but they are way out of my price range.

Great job Zac!!!

There is some stuff that comes in an aerosol can that freezes rusty nuts and bolts to help free them. I saw it at NAPA and know a guy that used it with success. My brother heats bolts with a torch and then sprays them with cold water to accomplish the same thing.

Make sure you seal those threads in the head.

Oh yes! I learned that the hard way on the Newport many moons ago. Nothing like coolant spitting out the side of the head.

What do y'all use on them? Planning just some thread tape. Maybe there's a better solution?

Thanks! I'll keep that spray in mind for the future. Might have to do the drivers side...

Some more truck ****. Drivers door glass installed. Man those vent windows are a *****! Luckily the rubber hides the few small scratches.

Took her on a shake down run today. Made her way around town for a little bit. New exh manifold gasket in, and a/c clutch made it a diff truck. So quiet now! Wipers aren't working again though. Doh! Cowl cover coming back off. New seats making their way in too.

A little bit of photoshop can fix that.

I'm beginning to think it hates me. Or it loves to be cussed out badly. Literally replaced the middle cab light, and socket 5 mins before those pics. All working. Drove to gas station, put gas in, and went to that park down the street, then that bulb went out.

Then she stalled out on the way back home. Didn't wanna start back up. Seemed like she flooded out. Took 20mins to get her going again... I was gonna drive it tomorrow too.

Can we just photoshop a 12 valve between the fenders?? lol

Like this one? I wouldn't advise the swap...

Bluesmobile is at the driveline shop for a few days. Gave me a chance to get the garage clean, and do a little tinkering on this old gal again.

This might not seem like much, but is a big burden off my back. She has a set of new(er) seats installed. Seats are out of an '01 caravan.

Think they fit the truck pretty good. Almost look like an old set of ramcharger buckets up top.

Built some frames for em, and got em in. Frames are a little crude, but they work. Still need to dress the welds a bit, and get em painted. Also need to get a new bolt for the passenger side armrest.

These are 200000% better then the OE seats that were in it. Those things sucked!

Now just gotta finish the floor up, and get the new carpet installed.
