AZ trip...

I have tried fender tags... IDK how much is the camera and how much is me... but I can't get them to come out legible... Doug @69CoronetRT will just have to forgive me...
It’s you, there’s not a camera made that can’t take a decent picture of a fender tag. You need to reset your camera to default settings I’m thinking.

I tried that... the car pics are a little better... but the tags...:(not so much.

BTW... it came to mind during another conversation... while driving around Phoenix for the last week, I repeatedly was just wowed by how much nicer the traffic was and how much less stress I felt driving, even while running late... The 101 in Phoenix and I10 between Phoenix and Tuscan were both just a joy to drive after being in Orlando so long. I'm sure traffic is worse somewhere, but I was truly impressed by how much less stress I felt driving there.

Jeff, how many days did it take for all those pictures?

Not many Formal's that I could see....

If you think the traffic is good in the Phoenix area you should've been here 20 years ago. You must not have been on I-10 during rush hour. It's a parking lot then.

Chris, does Phoenix still have all of the speed camera's?

Not on the freeways but some of the towns have them on secondary roads. Not a big deal if you pay attention because they have to be marked with a sign in plenty of time to slow down.

2 separate afternoons, I posted in reverse of when I went... DVAP one afternoon (Friday), @2ish I was in the office buying the stuff they still had to remove... The yard guy only thinks his life was more difficult by the booster coming out of the top car. :D It took almost 2 hours to get my winnings, by which time I was due for dinner plans... I still pushed it a little, but wasn't too late.
Then HVAP was Tuesday, once again in the afternoon. Dropped off my sister in law after some morning errands, ate a fast food lunch and went to the yard. I was pulled out by 4pm... I really never got to walk the other makes in either yard, and I'm not a Mopar snob... I would have loved to have time to see everything they had in both yards.

I think my family is a little disturbed by my early hours and inability to adjust to time zones... I slept through the New Years Eve block party at my brother's house and through parts of Star Wars... But hey, it's not like it was something exciting like Carlisle.

HVAP= 1 Formal, the fawn 78 St Regis...
Dvap= 1 New Yorker/Newport wagon... not sure of the year. 1 1975 Imperial, 1- Monaco... didn't look too hard at it. 1- stretched New Yorker/Newport... should have looked more, was preoccupied by my "finds". With the stacked cars there were several other NYB's and Newports but nothing with a nice Steering wheel... A goal of mine... there was also a stub frame from a Monaco or Gran Fury. I wasn't looking for window switches from these yards, I was thinking they would be too expensive and I don't have a desperate need. It was a mistake not to tire kick a few more prices while I was there though... It would have helped me with a few questions now.

I did get into some slower traffic Friday, but what impressed the living poop out of me was the very few morons lane jumping and getting uber aggressive. I was able to maintain a nice following distance from the cars in front of me with a couple azzholes jumping in to fill the gap. Most traffic even moved over if the saw you overtaking them... it was just weird :realcrazy::)

I'm safe... I wasn't more than 5 over except a few times the speeds changed down dramatically in Benson and Bizbee...

[QUOTE="live4theking,
Would someone explain to this whippersnapper the purpose of the circular area on the underside of the hood. Is it simply extra clearance for the air cleaner?
Yes.The hoods were becoming much lower for sleek styling reasons and clearance was an issue.
Man........ Would I love to have those front fenders.

Thanks Will.

That caught my eye.

Jeff,
You might have surpassed Olivia and Aaron in the number of pics that you took.

Matt, you have to understand the Jeff/camera syndrome. Although he is showing signs of improvement, (fewer dirt shots), it has been a long learning curve for him. Jeff sees things from a slightly different prospective, (I have learned), and is able to translate that to us through his photos. Cuto's for Jeff's perserverance and continued tenacious posting of his pictures.

That's why I gave my Daughter my Nikon FII Will. After 30+ yearz of ownership my little lite bulb finally went off and I had to admit that I would forever be nothing but ah point and click type of camera person and Box type Brownies are no longer sold, whimper.

We are of similar minds on this, I think... I will continue to use my pocket sized one for as long as it lasts... IDK what I'll do after that.

So far Olivia and Viv have given the newer one all the use it's ever seen. It's just too big and too fancy for me to love it. Of course, maybe it knows how to shot a fender tag

Most camera's have a "Macro Mode" that is for taking close up detailed pictures.....like fender tags.
