Now that the 79 300 is done except for getting the seats back from my upholsterer it's time to get the wagon done. First thing is getting the rebuilt transmission back in. My son helped me get it up and in yesterday. Now just have to get everything hooked back up. Then I can drive it so I can evaluate it to decide what else it needs. So far I've only driven it down my driveway. I know it has a taillight fuse blowing issue and the front seat needs done. Hopefully I won't find too much else wrong.

I'm jealous of your garage Chris. Except... what's that blue thing??
The wife wanted a Mustang so she got one. Can't complain, she still loves it after 12 years. Hasn't given us any problems in that time.

Got the transmission all buttoned up and took her for my first drive. She ran and drove great. Shifted smooth and handled good. I'm very happy . Only dissapointment is the speedometer doesn't work. Now to tackle the electrical gremlins. Not looking forward to that.

She's a great driver now! Got all the lights working and it runs and drives great. Few things to do like fix the speedometer and the power steering pump is noisy but overall pretty nice. I took it to my favorite desert site for a photo shoot.

Question, Can you just go off road and drive around anywhere in the "desert"? up here (Wisconsin) every inch belongs to someone. teaching my wife (72) how to shoot Kimber 1911.

A lot of places are open and a lot is fenced off. You have to go farther out to get away from civilization than you used to. You can hike pretty much anywhere but off roading is limited due to environmental damage.

Got the wheels all changed around. Stock wheels on the 300 and put the chrome ones on the wagon. I think it's an improvement on both of them.

Look at all that nice sheet metal. You really scored on that one too.
I like the wheel upgrade

The wagon is stranded on my lift while the brake booster is out being rebuilt and the front seat is going to my upholsterer. Since it's not going anywhere for at least a week I'm going to go ahead and cut out and patch the two small rust spots. For now I'll just spot paint and maybe come spring ill paint the whole car.
