HUMmmmmmmm ........ Must be a result of that "good stuff" you got a hold of.
Did you obtain an "altered state" and then come face to face with a 59 Dodge....? :poke:

All can agree that design evolves, but Exner (had he not been told to split) could have never gone from this......

To this.

Not in a million years could he have bridged the gap in philosophy.......nada, keine, negative, no.

Why not? All the others changd as they went......

And, thats not really the point, now is it?

Point is EVERYONE likes that era......you are alone, enjoy the crickets

The point is one is style, and the other is design. Are you gonna follow everyone as they jump off the golden gate bridge? I hate bugs almost as much as fins, but not quite.

No, you are looking for a reason and trying to split hairs. BOTH were designs of the times.....and to rattle your can more, the C's of 1969 and 70 were styled after pontiacs........the Chrysler designers loved their Pontiacs

No. I have no can to rattle. Style is meant to please through various means and make you "think" you want something so badly you must have it, or your making a good decision by purchasing it.....because everyone else is, so....therefore, logic dictates it MUST be good (that's not logic by the way). The truth is Exner and those of his ilk were masters at this manipulation (obviously - right?). I would not go so far as to say Chrysler designers were mimicking Pontiac, seems to me it might be the other way around. Some of the pontiac designs might be similar, but I don't think they were REALLY cognisant of what they were doing....they got to where they did purely by quaint happenstance. Take the 69' Bonneville, mmmmm, well sorta, kinda not bad in some ways.....and then you design a beak into the middle of the grill. For what? That's were the Pontiac express went off the tracks...and they did that with other models as well. So Chrysler following Pontiac? Difficult pill to swallow.

I know, i know, but there is a article on our beloved Dodge C bodies and the designer actually admits Chrysler designers admired pontiac and took styling points off of the Pontiacs
