She wouldn't give me the time of day let alone help me.

This one likes working on cars

I hope I don't have to remove the windshield to remove the dash. I can't find the dash removal in the FSM... I will see..

Bought this for hidden screws... Hope this will help.

Hey Stan, don't forget I have some nice parts from that '68 New Yorker. Not everything in the pics is sold...

THANK YOU MATT!!! Forgot all about them. The nice part is they are all out of the car and I don't have to make Bulldog crawl under the dash.
I printed out the pics as a handy checklist and I'll do a punch list.

You won't have to remove the windshield on your Imperial Julian ...... It just makes it easier to access the dash's top mounting bolts.

That socket set will come in real handy for something....... not many metric fasteners on an Imperial. Look for a 1/4" driver handle and various extentions also.

I was gonna but then I discovered you gotta pull the windshield.
I ain't pullin no windshield....

Is this point passed? Because there's quite a bit of back and forth on this on the Imperial list. I know your C-Body isn't an Imperial (sorry about that :) ) but there were a few comments about "I know it seems like it won't come out without pulling the windshield, but I assure you it will." If you still need to get in there, it might be worth some more investigation.

Julian, if you can pick up one of these ratchets, they work in confined areas. We use them in our aircraft facility. I tried to uplink the picture of one but I couldn't get it to come up. Do a google search for 1/4 inch roller ratchet.

You can bet your last dollar against me on this and you will get a licking as far as my 67 Chrysler Newport:
1. The windshield has to come out to pull the dash.
2. I am not pulling the windshield.
ERGO, the dash is not coming out.

I hear what yer saying, because I'd hate the idea of dicking with the windshield, but in the end, it may be easier and result in a better job to remove the windshield and replace the whole damn dash with another one. You could probably get the SafeLite guys to come and remove the windshield and come back again to re-install it.

Nope. Not doing it. Period. I did insane crap like that on my NYB. I bought this Newport because it is the Anti-NYB.
PLUS, I have a logistics problem to add to it now.
Ain't gonna happen.

Wow. Touchy.

Just asking.

Thanks Will! Good to know that I can leave the windshield where it is!

This pic is the bigger pack of this ratchet! I've bought the "bit" only version and US nuts separately!

There is a trick that works on the A-Body, not sure if it works on the C-Body

Take a Dremel to the screws from under the dash and then reinstall the screw from underneath.
Down the road when you need to remove the window replace the screws.

I may be missing something, and it's been a while since I've taken mine apart but... I can access the headlight switch in my 68 Newport by pulling the speedo gage cluster. Dash stays right wear it's at.
