Sounds like the starder bendix isnt releasing properly or you are holding the key in start too long....or the IGN switch is going bad.

Or the relay could be sticking too possibly?

Everyone knows that one guy with that one car that has to rock it with his foot out the door to get just enough good gear teeth engagement to crank er over. ....

I used to do that with a couple of my non-Mopars, days long past.

And you know, mopar starters were designed to fail in the dead of winter.
How many nights have I spent laying on a frozen garage floor swapping out a starter so I can get to school or work in the morning.

Just wondering..... Have you tightened the timing belt yet?

Seriously, the squealing could be a loose or worn alternator belt, which could account for a lower charging rate and a low battery.
